Trading Time

Part IV

We sat there for another 10 minutes. 

,,Thank you." he said removing his head from my shoulder. ,,For what?" I questioned confused.

 Is it not normal to comfort a person?

 ,,For comforting me. My ex hated when I cried, she said I was to soft for a guy." ,, I'm so sorry." I face him. ,,She was my first love, I was so stupid. Our relationship went downhill when she started drinking and she brought me into it."

Woah. Too much informations for one night.

I looked at the time and it was 10 minutes away from 12 AM.

,,I guess we should head to bed." I heard Mason saying as he stood up and stretched. ,,Okay. Goodnight." I yawn. ,,Night." he said going upstairs. After he closed the door I dialed Vanni's number.

,,Hello?" she said after 3 rings. ,,Hey Vanni, sorry for calling you so late. Mason said you called before." I Whisper. ,,Oh yeah, just wanted to know where you were and I didn't expect him to take you to his apartment. He must really like you. You know he doesn't take anyone to his apartment but us. What are you wearing though? And sleeping?" she asks. ,,He told me that before. I'm sleeping in my shirt and underwear, and I'm sleeping on the couch." I say.

,,Okay, well I'm heading to bed. Good Night, Hailey." I hear how she covers herself. ,,Good Night." I hang up and drop my phone on the table. I put a spoon into the wine and put it in the fridge. That's something I always did by my mom's wine or Jacob's wine. It keeps it longer fresh.

I went back to the couch. I went through social media. I fell asleep 3 minutes after.

I woke up to the doorbell ringing. Mason went to the door and opened it. ,,I've been calling you guys!" I hear Vanni say. ,,I know, I turned our phones off because Hailey is still sleeping." I heard him close the door. ,,Well, I brought you guys coffee and donuts." she says. ,,DONUTS !?" I quickly stand up.

Both blonde heads snap towards my way as I walk towards them.

,,I mean...Good Morning both of you." I snatch the box from Vanni's hand. ,, Um...Good morning to you too. I brought you coffee too but because I don't know how you like your coffee I brought you a coffee with a splash of milk and two sugar cubes because that's how I like mine." Vanni smiles with the hope in her eyes she was right.

,,Perfect! That's my order. Thank you Vanni." I say grabbing my coffee from the coffee holder. Mason sat down in front of me. ,,And Mason as always your coffee is black.", he nods, ,,I'm heading back. I was calling you to tell you, you should come over but you can do that after you finish." she smiles at us. ,,Okay, thank you." I say while Mason stuffed his mouth with a donut.

As Vanni left we started eating. ,,What are the plans for today? Do you maybe know? Or do you have complete other plans?" I ask. ,,Well my plan was too drop you at my family's house and then I would go to my friends and chill with them and then party tonight." he said shrugging. I nod.

After we ate up we left his apartment and we did what he planned. He brought me to the  Family house and went to his "bro's".

- 1 week later -

We would visit Jill everyday in the hospital. Everybody really grew into my heart either. They were like my second family. Mason and I would hang out a few times, and the love he has for his mother just melted me inside.

We entered her room. Otherwise like other times everything seemed lifeless. Even though the room was decorate with family pictures and teddy bears the room was grey. She looked weak and tired either. It broke my heart how everyone was looking at her with sad expressions. Vanni was crying, so I quickly comforted her.

As her heart rate got lower everyone rushed to her but Mason. ,,What's wrong?" I ask behind him. ,,I can't, Hailey." ,,Come on, I'll go with you." I said taking his hand. He clutched my hand as we walked towards her. ,,Hailey, Mason.'' she said taking each of our hand. Mason was on the opposite side of the bed. He looked at me with tears in his eyes. I nodded.

,,I'm really tired!" she said trying her best to keep her eyes open. Alex looked at all of us sighing. ,,I love you, sweetheart. Everyone in this room does. You can rest now, darling. Thanks for holding on so long." he gave her a weak smile.

,,Bye, kids. Bye, Brady. Bye, Gus. Bye my only girl Vanni. Bye, Mason. Bye, Jack the panty ripper.", she let out a weak giggle that broke my heart in thousand pieces, ,,bye my first and last love Alex. Bye, Hailey. I love you all very much don't forget that. And Hailey I hope you can come visit us again sometimes. I'll see you guys." she said weakly before her heart rate went completely down.

Shortly after her heartbeat dropped the nurses turned off her maschines she was connected on the whole time. I heard Mason huff something under his breath after we all went out. I followed Alex to his car. Before I could even open the door Mason grabbed my arm ,,Please follow me, Hailey.'' ,,To where?'' ,,Just follow me please.'' he begged. I gave in and nodded. ,,Just let me quickly talk to Vanni.'' I say moving from him.

,,Hey Vanni, I'm going with Mason.'' I said. ,,With Mason? This Mason asked you to follow him?'' she said in disbelief. I nodded. ,,Well, have fun. Are you gonna sleepover or should I pick you later?'' she opened the car door. ,,I guess I'm gonna sleepover but I'll call if anything changes.'' she smiles entering the car.

I entered Mason's car and he started driving. After a while he parked on a hill with amazing view of San Francisco. The sun was settling down due to the time. It was probably 5 in the evening. He went out and I followed him. There was a bench set up on the Hill.

We sat down and watch the people of San Francisco do their thing. There was a comfortable silence, until Mason started crying. I shifted closer to him and he leaned his head on my shoulder. I didn't know what to do, so I just sat there comforting him.

,,Thank you Hailey. I needed this.'' he sniffed. ,,No problem, anytime!'' I said smiling. We sat on the bench for another 10 minutes to see the sun settle fully down.

I must've fallen asleep because the next thing I knew I was in Masons's bed in underwear and his shirt.

Did we? Oh god no, I know him since when? 3 days?
