Part VIII

,,So why were you calling with Gus?'' Mason asked as we were both laying in bed. ,,Well, long story short. Lexi, my best friend, broke up with her boyfriend. So she went out to clear her mind and talked To a guy called Gus Beckett.'', he nodded, ,,but she didn't get his number. And when she told me I gave her his number and they talked.'' I say yawning. ,,Oh okay.'' he said. ,,Can you hang up I'm too tired to take out my hand out again.'' I said closing my eyes. ,,No.'' he said. ,,Thank you.'' I said drifting off.

I woke up to my alarm and someone screaming my name. I turned my alarm off only to see Mason with his hair in every direction. ,,Thank god. Hailey, it's 6 in the morning and your alarm sounds like a broken car horn-like what the actual fuck.'' he said. I giggled. ,,I'll get ready for school. See ya.'' I say hanging up. I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, made my hair into a ponytail, and came out. I wore blue ripped jeans and a red hoodie that I recognized as Mason's. 

,,Good Morning Mom. Morning Jacob.'' I say coming down with my bag. ,,Morning, sweetie.'' my Mom gave me a kiss on my cheek. I took an apple and went out to my car. I just started it when Mason called me. I connected my phone to the car's Bluetooth and started driving. ,,Hello?'' Mason said frustrated. ,,Hi, Thought you wanted to go back to sleep.'' I ask. ,,Yeah that was my plan but your alarm was so horrible that I can't sleep anymore. And the reason why I called, have you seen my red hoodie? Like the one that I wore the last we were in my apartment.'' he said. I showed my upper body to him. ,,This one?'' ,,Now I know why I didn't find it 'till now.'' he said going through his hair. ,,Where are you?'' he asked getting up. ,,My school.'' ,,Do you have to work today?'' he asked. ,,Yup.'' I said. ,,From when till when?'' ,,2.30 PM 'till 6 PM.'' I said grabbing my things. ,,Okay, see ya.'' he said waving. ,,Bye.'' He hangs up and I throw my phone into my bag. I went into the yellow building and started my first class.

,,Good day!'' Our teacher shouted after us as we left the class. I went towards my locker. ,,Bye, Hailey.'' my partner in math waved to me. I waved back. ,,Bye, Gus.'' Lexi waved to him over the camera as I closed my locker. ,,So what are you doing now?'' she asked me. ,,I have a shift now, but after that nothing.'' I tell her. ,,Okay just call me after. I guess I'll be doing some homework till then.'' I nod. ,,See ya then.'' I say going to my car. I entered and checked my phone. I saw an app on my phone which sent me a message saying that Mason's location was turned off. I shrugged it off and started my drive.

,,Hey, Andrea.'' I greeted my Co-worker. Andrea is one of my best friends here at my Working place. She's from Germany. That reminds me of that one time she tried teaching me German. The only thing I remember is: Ich arbeite in einem Cafè. Which means I work in a coffee shop. (But yeah whatever) ,,Hey what's up, Hailey.'' she greeted me with a hug. ,,Nothing. What about you?'' I asked her while wearing my grey apron. ,,Well, I heard from Lexi that you met a pretty cute guy in San Francisco.'' she said looking at me. ,,Well, yeah I did meet a boy.'' I said smiling. ,,So-'' she started. ,,Excuse me?'' an older man said. ,,Hi! How can I help you?'' I asked cleaning the desk before the food. I looked up to meet Markus's eyes. Markus is Mason's grandpa and beside him was Rose, his grandma. 

,,I'd like to have a table for 8 people, please.'' he smiled at me. ,,Sure!'' I brought them to the table. I went back to Andrea. I smiled. ,,What happened?'' she asked poking my tummy. ,,You see them.'' I point to Rose and Markus. Andrea nodded. ,,Those are Mason's grandparents.'' I say. ,,Who is Mason?'' she asked. ,,Mason is the boy I met In San Francisco.'' she let out a quiet squeal. ,,See, they're sitting at your table,.'' she pushed me towards them. 

I was playing with my pen while asking them for their order. It wasn't only Markus and Rose, all of them were there and with that I mean Vanni, Brady, Jack, Gus, and Alex but Mason was not in sight which explains the empty seat.  I went back to set their order. I didn't see Andrea in sight so I asked Ben to help me. ,,Hey, Ben could you help me get these to Table 4?'' I carry two of the silver tablets. ,,Yeah sure!'' he said putting the Notebook in his apron and carrying the remaining two. I gave everyone their order. 

,,Yo, Hailey. This coffee is with too much milk.'' Brady shouted. I saw Vanni slap his shoulder. I went over and took his coffee. ,,How many splashes of milk do you want?'' I asked nicely. ,,One!'' he said.

Then why the hell did he order a Milkcoffee?!

Well, I went behind the counter re-did his coffee, and only put only one splash of milk. I gave him his coffee and went back again. ,,Who is that cutie?'' she said pointing at Brady. ,,He's a real pain in the ass. And he has a girlfriend.'' I said making her pout. 

I took their dishes and came back with the check. ,,I'll pay.'' Markus said.  I looked around the table ,,Are you looking for Mason?'' Vanni said standing beside me. I slowly nod. ,,He just wrote me he'll be there in a couple of-'' ,,I'm here. Oh, you guys are leaving already.'' Mason said coming in. Mason sat down at the table and Andrea came to clean it. ,,Um excuse me can I have two donuts and two coffees, please? One coffee black and the other with one splash of milk and two sugar cubes.'' he said ordering Andrea. She nodded to me. I nodded back to tell her I got the order. 

Vanni rolled her eyes at him and waved my way. I saw Lexi coming in. ,,Woah. Gus?'', she said running to him, ,,And a lot of other people I don't know except for Vanni, Hailey, and Mason.'' she said in awe. I  stepped to her. ,,This is Alex, their dad, Brady and Jack, Gus's siblings along with Mason and Vanni. And last but not least these are Rose and Markus their grandparents.'' I said smiling and pointing at each of them. ,,Mhm. I can't really promise I'll remember each of your names.'' she said. ,,Nobody really can.'' Mason said from the corner out. ,,Yes, I can.'' I defend myself. ,,You swapped Brady ad Jack.'' he laughed. 

,,Mamoo is it okay when Lexi comes with us?'' Gus asked Rose as they were about to leave. ,,Sure!'' she said sweet but raw at the same time. My eyes widened. I just heard Mason chuckle behind me. Before I knew they were out of my sight. I sighed looking at Mason.

I brought Mason his order and he grabbed my arm. ,,Why don't you do a break now and hang with me?'' he whispered. ,,I co-'' I started. ,,Come on, I bought you a donut and a coffee.'' he pouted. ,,I wanted to say I could take my break now. But your just so stubborn that you won't even let me finish my sentence.'' I shrug taking my apron off.
