Trading Time

Part VI

We went downstairs to watch a movie with the others. ,,Which movie are we gonna watch, Brady.'' Mason turned to him. ,,I'm actually heading to my girlfriend Ava.'' Brady said wearing his jacket. ,,Are we still gonna see each other?'' I stood up from the white couch. ,,No, I don't think so.'' I pouted. ,,Come here.'' he said taking me in his arms. ,,Bye Brady. I'm gonna miss you.'' l said loosening from the hug. ,, I'm gonna miss you too. You were the only one who ever beat me in video games.'' he said loud enough for his siblings to hear. ,,See you next time, Brady. '' ,,Bye.'' he waved going out.

1 check, 6 left. Jill was buried yesterday, so tomorrow before I leave I wanna visit her.

I groaned when I heard my alarm go off at 9 in the morning. I got up, went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and got dressed. I packed my remaining stuff in my suitcase and went downstairs with it. ,,Let me help!'' Jack came up to me. ,,Thank you Jack.'' I say going into the dining room which was connected to the kitchen. ,,Good Morning.'' I said going into the kitchen to grab a cup. ,,Morning'' I heard from Alex. Mason was stuffing pancakes in his mouth. No wonder they're his favourites.

,,One question.'' I said. All of their heads looked my way. ,,Can we go to Jill? I wanna say bye before I leave?'' I say looking at Alex, who nodded. Jack opened the door and everyone left. I was the last.

We started driving again, we just had a stop because Vanni needed to pee and I bought some flowers for Jill. ,,Why are you so nice?'' Mason whispered to himself as we were on the way. I didn't really know who he was talking about. Or maybe he was talking about himself?

We arrived at the cemetery and we went to the grave. I dropped the flowers. ,,Hi Jill, We- I came by to say bye. I'm leaving for Denver today afternoon.'', I looked back at them to see them in a conversation, ,,You know, Mason really changed since you left. He was in the Family house almost every day and he hasn't been drinking either.'' I say chuckling. ,,What is so funny?'' Mason came up behind me. ,,Nothing.'', I stand up, ,,We can go now!'' we all piled up into the van and started driving to their house.

During the drive, Vanni kicked my leg. I turned to her. ,,Mason has really changed since he got to know you. And you know, you would make a cute couple.'' she said the last part with pointing down to his lap. I looked over to see our hands intertwined.

How did I not notice this?

He was looking out of the window while moving his thumb up and down my skin.

Mason's POV

I looked over to Hailey who was talking to my sister. I gently intertwined our hands while looking at her face, so I could see if she felt some discomfort while I did it. I placed our hands on my lap and started moving my thumb.

If she only knew how much she meant to me. This girl knows more about me than I do. But what I loved about her is that she was open. She would talk about what's on her mind. She's not the first girl I cried to, but she was the first (Who is not my sibling ) that accepted it. I am so glad I met her. Maybe she could help me get out of this...hole I am in. Just that she lives 2.009,5km away from me. (Yup, I googled that). I-

,,Is everything okay?'' Her voice went through my bones. ,,Yeah, just thinking.'' I smiled. ,,What are you thinking about?'' I knew she was gonna ask me that, so I practised my answer. ,,I'm thinking about..-'', I looked at her, and it felt I lost control over my body for a second, ,,I'm thinking about you. Mm, rather about the day we met.'' her face went red. To hide it she put her head on my shoulder. I chuckled and put mine on hers.

All too soon we arrived at the house. ,,Dad? How much time does Hailey still have?'' I felt my sibling stare at me. ,,One hour. Why?'' my dad said opening the front door. ,,Nothing. I just want to show her something before she leaves.'' I smiled. Hailey rolled her eyes knowing where we're going.

I parked at my favourite spot. ,,Can it be that this is your favourite spot? We've been here for the 4th time this week.'' she said after we got out. ,,Yeah, this is a place come often to think.'' we sat on the bench. ,,I'm not coming  at you. I mean I can understand it, it's a really beautiful place.'' she said putting her head on my shoulder. 

After a moment I heard her sniff. I looked at her. ,,No no no don't cry.'' I say comforting her.

Hailey's POV

After we arrived back at their house, I went in and took my suitcase. Alex put it in the trunk. ,,I want you guys to choose who is coming with Hailey. Only one person though.''  Alex said entering the Driver's seat. The four of them made a circle and discussed. 

,,I'm coming with you.'' Vanni said entering the car. I smiled. Gus came up to hug me. ,,Bye, Hailey. I'm really gonna miss you.'' he said. ,,I'm gonna miss you too.'' I giggled. next was jack. ,,Well, Jack the ''panty'' ripper.'', he flexed his muscles as said it. I giggled, ,,I'm gonna miss you and especially your jokes.'' I rolled my eyes. He chuckled. ,,Bye, Hailey.'' he said. 

And now, Mason.

I didn't say anything I just hugged him. ,,I'm gonna miss you, Hailey.'' he breathed out so it tickled in my neck.  ,,I'm gonna miss you too.'' I giggled lightly.

After a couple of seconds, we loosened. We faced each other and held my hands.  I loved the way he held me, it was like he would break them if he held them otherwise. ,,Please write me when you're at home.'' he whispered. ,,I'll do.'' I say nodding. ,,I need to go.'' I say starting to walk away. 

Our hands slowly faded apart as I walked further to the car. I waved to them as we drove off. 

After 30 minutes of driving, we arrived. I got out and collected my suitcase from Alex. ,,Thank you, Alex.'' I say rolling it to me. ,,Hailey!'' Lexi came towards me. ,,Hey Lexi.'' I hug her. Vanni joins us. ,,Oh, Lexi this is Vanni, Vanni this is my best friend Lexi'' I introduce both of them. They shook their hands and started talking so I used the opportunity to say bye to Alex. 

,,Thank you, Alex, for having me.'', I start, ,,And I am truly sorry for what happened with Jill.'' He nods. He embraces me into a hug. ,,Thank you, Hailey. You're like my second daughter I sadly never had.'', he started, ,,And thank you, for staying with Mason. I think he really likes you.'' he winks. I giggle. We walk towards Vanni and Lexi. ,,Well, I guess we need to go.'' I point at Lexi and I. ,,No.'' Vanni said hugging me. I laugh. 

,,Bye!'' I wave at Alex and Vanni.

 Vanni had a death grip on me for at least 5 minutes, I just hope we're not coming too late.

,,Where's John?'' I asked Lexi. She shrugged and followed the teacher. We boarded the plane and flew off to Denver.
