as I walk in the door coming home from school I saw that mum wasn't home. "mum!?" I shouted. "mum are you home?!" I shouted again. still no response. "okay then I'll take that as a no" I muttered. I made myself a coffee and sat down on the couch watching the news on TV. as I take a sip of my coffee I see a picture of the same boy I saw last night in my house.

good afternoon L. A., last night a call to the police was made about a young man. he  was saw running from royal lane drive way at 12 'o'clock last night, if you see this man please call police. he is dangerous. do not approach him at all costs. stay inside and lock your doors and windows. back to you Jim

"no... It can't be surely" I whispered to myself. I shrug it off and finish my coffee. "I better start doing my homework" I said going to the fridge for a snack. On the fridge door I saw a note, I took it in my hands and read it.

hey cookie I'm working late again tonight wont be back till 11pm I left you money on the counter for you to order pizza- love mum. 

I smile softly at the note. I place it down and grab a salad from the fridge. I grab the money from the counter and walked upstairs. I close my bedroom door. placing my salad on the bed I grab my school jotter from my bedside table. the homework was set on a self assessment. I wasn't very good at this stuff. I don't even know my self for that matter. I sigh as I stare hard at my paper. "ugh I give up!" I said with frustration lurking in my voice. I grab my pillow and slam it on my face, screaming and cussing letting all my anger out. I put my pillow back down and start writing about myself. 

~1 hour later~

I finally finish my homework. I set my jotter down on the bed and pick up my phone ordering pizza. I go on the derliveroo app and order from pizza hut. I order from there like once every two months if I'm lucky. I order a ham and pinaple pizza with lemon on it. while I waited for the delivery I just sat on my bed playing some current joys. their music always made me smile, I don't know why, the music they make is just so calming. as I lay on my bed I get lost in the void. my mind was numb. thoughtless. quiet even. I shut my eyes, softly listening to the music that is now sounding muffled, like when you dunk your head under water in the bath. suddenly the door bell rang. my eyes fluttered open like I just woke up. I get off my bed and run down stairs. I hesitate as I got to the door. I shakily unlock it and peep my head out to see the delivery man. "oh hi sorry" "no it's okay.. number 74 right?" "yea thats me" "okay that will be $10.15" I hand the money to the deliver man and thank him. I shut the door and walk upstairs to my bedroom. I sit back down on my bed and place the pizza down taking a slice from the box. I look at my clock to see the time was half seven, still hours away still mum gets home from work. I roll my eyes and go on my phone. I decided to text my friend Oliva.

me- hey oli how r u?

                  oli- tired really just sitting in bed doing the self asses now

me- oof I finished mine like 4 hours ago ✌

                  oli- NO FAIR HOW!!

me- cuz I actually do mine before the deadline ;)

                  oli- *sigh* Ig your right

me- hey did you hear about the guy on the news?

                  oli- hell yea! he is so hot

me- OLI OMG!!

                  oli- WHAAAT

me- NOTHHINGG

                 oli- well I best be going if i wanna finish this homework

I smile at the last text and set my phone down. I take another slice of my pizza and eat. as I'm eating I hear the house phone ring from down stairs. "ugh what now!" I shout throwing my arms in the air dramatically. I swing my door open and rush down stairs to the phone. I pick it up and hear a raspy voice on the end of the phone.

I missed that sweet voice of yours

I ended the phone as soon as I could. I slam the phone hard down onto the stand. I march up the stairs. I go back into my bedroom for like the millionth time today. I go on my laptop and search up the name 'Remington' into google. In a flash I find one article from the local news paper. the title read "Remington leith, 19 ran away from  forster parents is still on the run" I scan through the article looking for more. nothing else only that. but Remington could be anyone surely it wont just be him. like loads of men could be called Remington leith. I check the time again. it was 9pm "why is time going so fast?" I said taking a double take at my clock and the window. it was getting dark really fast. but it was summer. not winter. suddenly I heard a knock at my window. I look over my shoulder to see the same boy from last night, he had a smile plastered on his face. I slowly get up from my bed and walk to my window. I open it and just stand there. "well hello darlin never thought you'd let me in" he said softly. reington sits down on my bed and lays down staring at my celing. "sure make your self comfortable" I mumble. "hey uh rem my mum is gonna be home in like an hour" "oh yea" "yeaa?" "what is she like?" he said in a soft child like tone. "umm she's nice, kind, caring, like any other mother really" "sounds nice" he muttered. "I- uh- would you like something to eat?" "do you have any monster?" "I uh, yea I guess let me check" "ok" I left the bedroom and went down stairs to the fridge. I looked for the drinks to see I had redbull. "it'll have to do I guess" I run back upstairs to see Remington walking around looking at the pictures on my wall. "hey I only have redbull is that okay?" when I spoke Remington jumped a little. "yea" I handed him the drink and sat down on my bed. Remington sat on my bed, our knees touching. "I like your room" he said looking around at the baby blue walls. "thank you" "can I ask you a question Remington?" "sure" he looked up at me with his big brown eyes looking lighter in the room. "why... w- why did you kiss me last night?" I stuttered, trying not to seem flustered. "because your cute" my eyes widened at the statement. soon I heard the door open from down stairs. "shoot" "what" Remington said looking at my door. "my mum is home" "oh can I meet her?" "yea yea just sit on the bed and read this text book" I whisper shout. "okay jeez" I hand him the text book then sit next to him reading a school book. "oh hey h- y/n who is this?" "oh hey mum this is Rem he's from my school- we're working on homework" "ohh I see sorry" "no problem mum" I laugh quietly. I turn the the man next to me, he smashed his lips to mine. my eyes shot open and I pulled away in shock. I just looked at Remington with my face burning hot. "here" rem handed me a note book and a pen with a little clock on the end of it. I took it in my hands gently. "I- w-" rem kissed my cheek and placed something in my hand and left out the window. I look at the paper in my hand and saw his phone number with the words on it saying "call me ;)" I laugh lightly. "oh Remington what am I going to do with you..."
