About

This was the second series I wrote after Emerson & The Lion, a story that most definitely wouldn't work well on Wattpad. The summer between my Junior and Senior years of High School, I loaded up on community college classes. In California, you can take classes for free and get free books if you're a high school student, so my dad always pushed me to take a bunch.

It was my first time outside of my small high-school-writing-magnet program, and the college campus is popular with middle eastern and asian students. After a few weeks of blending in silently, I met the Persian who would later become my husband. In some ways, he is very much Navid.

It was a totally new world for me and I honestly didn't think he was gay or into me like that. He had this big brother protectiveness, but it took months before we even kissed. He moved in much slower than Navid. The first few months, It was literally fingers brushing against each other, then him putting my hand on the stickshift of his car and covering it with his.

It was all so confusing for me. We'd be in his room, and he'd show me some funny videos on his phone and then we'd lay back together against his pillow until I fell asleep on his chest. It was so innocent and led to nothing. I didn't know he was fighting to stop himself because he wanted things to be solid between us. I just thought he wasn't interested and I knew Persian guys were much more comfortable with physical contact.

I was so scared that things would go too far and he'd call me an anti-gay slur and toss me out. It was my first time being completely obsessed with someone, and I was so afraid to lose it. I never made a move, never pushed for more. Strangely enough, he says that is something he loved most about me. He thought I was a good kid who wouldn't even know what to do.

The original concept for the series was one chapter for one month of their relationship. The first chapter was June, then July, etc... I broke the big chapters into thirds for posting on wattpad, so each 3 chapters = one month. After posting a few chapters though, readers wanted more in depth of the buildup of things between them. After the first few chapters I dropped the month concept. I still think it's a cool idea though.

When I finished the series, there was a lot I wanted to do differently with it, so. I wrote the Lukas and the Lion series (originally titled Lukas and the Shah). It's funny because that series is so much more popular, but the Noah series is a time capsule for me. Even though it is a work of fiction, some of the events, conversations, and places came from the things that happened with my own guy.

The Cover Art for the book is the Library building at the college where we met. Go Brahmas!

Where can I read the original series with the extra dirty parts?

Do they have a Toxic Relationship?

I hear this a lot about the series. I don't disagree with it. Back when I wrote it, I was very much ok with a man taking control and directing my every breath. I hope I showed enough growth in the series. Navid comes from a very different culture and place. He came to California where he found an endless supply of guys fetishizing him as an Alpha Persian Dominant guy. He got into things he later regretted and wanted to protect Noah as he perceived him to be; an innocent naive virgin.

I should do an update and show the progress. People grow and change, every relationship is a journey. If I'd given up, I would have missed it. But I in no way am advocating for staying in an unhealthy or abusive relationship and I hope that's not what readers take away from this series.

Anyways! Thanks for reading and if you have questions, I can answer them here. I'll update this page with answers.
