Barbara Gordon impatiently waited for her father to answer her call. Ever since the untimely disappearence of Batman, he had to wotk ten times harder to try to keep Gotham safe. But there was no answer. Barbara silently sat down the phone, sighed sadly, and wheeled to her bed.

Without even having time to get situated in bed, the phone rang. She hurrily got back in her wheelchair, and rushed to the table. She answered the phone with little haste. "Hello" she answered.

"Hello Miss Gordon. This is Dr.Spire from S.T.A.R. Labs. We have heard of your paralyzed condtion, and we have some goods news. We might be able to help you regain your movement" the doctor replied. "If you just stop by tomarrow, we'll give you some more details. Does around 1 o'clock sound alright?"

"Uh yeah." Barbara said. She really didn't know what to say. She didn't know this man, and had only been to S.T.A.R. Labs once when she was in high school. And with that she hung up the phone.

She sat down the phone and just stared at the table for a while. She had wondered why S.T.A.R. Labs had called her. The were so many helpless and more needing people that were paralyzed in Gotham. Why her? She guessed it was due to the upheld ego and reputation of her father.

She calmly and contently went to her bed, and got in. After she got confortable, she layed there thinking about her time as Batgirl. After saving a GCPD officer and herself during a robbery, Bruce Wayne took her in and she became Batgirl. But that ended when Joker shot her in spine, severing her spinal column and paralyzing her from the waist down.

She loved the thrill of being a hero. She could actually make a difference in the world. She helped Bruce and Robin for a while as Oracle, giving them information about cases and crimes. Although they did appreciate it, she felt as if she wasn't as big of a difference.

But what if they really could repair her? Make her walk again? She could be the same person she used to be, she could help Robin and her father keep the streets clean. She then rolled over and went to sleep. She had a big day tomarrow.
