17: Compound Gets Destroyed

Avengers Compound Crater

Nothing moves, the smoke clears, revealing a bombed out crater a mile wide. Avengers Compound has been destroyed.

Then the light changes and the Sanctuary parts the clouds, as it hovers over the ruins like a vulture, an energy beam drops to the ground releasing Thanos flanked by a squad of Outriders. The Mad Titan looks around at the devastation he has wrought.

"Daughter?" Thanos says over his com.

"Yes father..." Bad Nebula replies into her com.

Out of the smoke walks Bad Nebula is bruised and dirty.

"So this is the future, well done." Thanos says to his daughter, she tears off the orange-head plate.

"Thank you father, they suspect nothing." Bad Nebula says to her father and he had a ghost of a smile on his face of the damage that he just caused

"The arrogant never do." Thanos says as he takes off his helmet, staring up at the crater's edge.

"Go. Find the stones. Bring them to me." Thanos says to his daughter, and she looks at him.

"What will you do?" Bad Nebula asks her father and he looks up to her.

"Wait." Thanos says and his daughter walks off finding the stones.

Avengers Compound Garage Ruins

The underground garage lies half-collapsed, Bruce grits his teeth holding up the ceiling with one good arm, and his other arm buried and lifeless. Rhodey lies in the rubble and his War Machine suit sparks.

"Canopy! Canopy!" Rhodey exclaims, and his suit ratchets open, and he hauls himself free to see Rocket trapped under rubble as he crawls to him. The ceiling rumbles, and Bruce wavers muscles quivering.

"Mayday! Tony. Macy. Cap. Does anybody hear me?!" Rhodey says and he finally reaches Rocket, and he wheezes in pain.

"Hang on!" Rhodey says and he wedges a piece of rebar into the debris, and he heaves, finally managing to lever it off of Rocket, then the cracked ceiling gives way, and a million gallons of water rushes in, and Rhodey tries to keep his head above the water.

"Mayday! Mayday! We are taking on water!" Rhodey says as he is struggling to keep his head above the water.

Tool Shop Ruins

Scott is lying on a silver metal floor.

"...anyone....Mayday....Mayday-"

Scott groans coming to.

"Wait what....?" He says as Tiny Scott is lying in the ruins of the armory on the Iron Patriot helmet.

"Tell 'em to...hurry...asses up-" Rocket says.

"...trapped....drowning....no time...." Rhodey says and Scott jumps to his feet.

"No! Wait, I'm here!" Scott says as he spots water trickling through the cracked floor.

Access Tunnel

Water drips from a hole in the roof of an access tunnel, on Macy Stark, lying face down, she groans. She opens her hand to find her cellphone: Her best friend smiles on the screen. "Taylor, one missed call." Macy stares amazed. It worked. She's back. It actually worked. She won't be depressed anymore.

She winces finding she's been lying atop...The gauntlet. It's bashed out of shape, but all the stones still gleam.

"Cap? Dad? Anyone?" Macy says into her com hoping that someone can get to her. She peers down a darkened tunnel, then breathes fire out of her mouth revealing...
