20: Macy Snaps

Across the field Maw sends Wanda tumbling, but Shuri blasts him out of the sky. Cull Obsidian hammers Valkyrie but Nebula takes him out. Bella keeps doing, gauntlet tucked under her arm getting closer and closer to the van where the Quantum Tunnel bursts to life.

Across the field grounded heroes look up to see Bella now just yards away from the goal. She puts her head down using her super speed to run faster to the van but Thanos throws the spear, and the van explodes sending Scott and Bella flying, taking out some of the wizards holding back the river. Thanos catches Proxima's returning spear.

Time slows as Steve, Thor, Tony and Macy spot the gauntlet lying unguarded in the dirt, the problem is so does Thanos.

Time resumes as they all scramble for the stones, they collide, and Thanos snatches the gauntlet kicking Macy down, but luckily Tony caught her before she could make impact with the ground.

Thanos then squeezes the crushed gauntlet, popping it open just wide enough to put his hand inside of it.

Sadie lunges but Thanos throttles her, finally clear Thanos slips on the gauntlet, but before he can snap... Carol arrives, and she grabs the glove, preventing him from closing his fist, he headbutts her but she doesn't move one inch.

Carol presses Thanos down, but before he falls Thanos pulls the power stone from it's housing and punches Carol sending her flying. The field goes quiet, now nothing stands in Thanos' way.

Stephen Strange slowly looks over at Tony, who cautiously meets his gaze, and in that moment all Wizard Guy can do is hold up a single finger.

Macy has been having this vision for a couple years now and it's going to come back and haunt her for the rest of her life.

Dad's eyes slowly trail to me, and our gazes meet, and suddenly Dad understands what I've been talking about for the past couple years, and it's been replaying for the past five years.

"MACYY! DON'T! DON'T DO THIS!" Macy heard Tony screaming at her and she didn't listen to him, and he is begging her not to do this. "PLEASE.....DON'T-DON'T DO THIS TO ME BEAR-"

"It's okay Daddy." Macy said to him and looked at him with a sad smile on my face. "It's okay."

A small moment of silence separates the two from the war all around, time slows down, and it's just us two - like it was the beginning, the father and daughter against the world.

"Let me go!" Tony cuss and scream with such a gut-wrenching sound beating and fighting, against the mad Titan.

When Thanos wasn't looking Macy grabbed the stones out of the gauntlet and put them on her gauntlet which her father made for her.

"I....am....inevitable." Thanos says with a smirk on his face and he raises the gauntlet-covered hand, and then nothing happens.

Confused, Thanos turns the gauntlet over to find, the stones are gone. With a horrified expression, he lifts his head at Macy having the stones in her own gauntlet.

"MACY NOOOO!!!!!!!" Tony screamed, making the ground shake a little from the loud noise. She looked at Tony and said, "I'm sorry Daddy, but tell Mom and Morgie that I love them 3,000." Macy says and he just continues screaming at the top of his lungs, trying to stop her but it's no use.

"And I...Am...Mystify..." Macy said and then she snapped her fingers, and Tony screamed not caring if anyone heard him.

It was official that Maclyn May Maria Stark is gone and never coming back. His baby bear is gone.

All around the field Sakaaran and Outriders fold in on themselves, atoms disintegrating, Thanos looks around watching his troops disappear, ships vanish from the sky. Culls, Chitauri, all blown away to dust.

Leaving Thanos standing alone, after a long moment he sits down on a rock, and accepts his face, and he watches as his atoms dissolve, finally Thanos turns to dust.

Across the field Macy Stark falls back against the upturned roots of a tree, armor smoking, arm withered to where the gauntlet was at, and blackened.

Rhodey rushes to his niece, whom he considered to be his daughter, since she was a little girl. But with one look on his face he knows it's too late, Macy exhales almost letting go, then Peter Parker and Tony land kneeling with each of them taking her hand.

"Macy...it's okay, it's okay...Macy we won...you did it Mac..." Peter says and Macy gazes past him, and Tony puts his hand on Peter's shoulder guiding him away. Next it is Tony's turn.

"Hey baby." Tony says to his daughter, and she has a little smile on her face, knowing that if she wasn't almost dying at the moment that she'd be smiling as brightly as she could.

"Papa." Macy says and it sounds like a faint whisper but he smiles a little, when she called him Papa.

"Hey ARIA, what've we got." Tony says and Pepper arrives and she kneels heartsick at the sight of her daughter basically on her deathbed, right in front of her.

"Life functions critical." ARIA says and Pepper tries not to cry when ARIA says that.

"If you weren't basically dying in front of me I know that you'd be happy right now that we - mean you did it." Tony says as he is trying not to cry at the moment but he couldn't help it, his tears started streaming down his face.

Macy tried to lean forward as much as she could, to hug her father one last time, before she left. He took the hint and hugged her as much as he could without hurting her more than she already was, and he gently kissed her cheek, and she had a ghost of a smile on her face, when her father kissed her cheek.

"Mac look at me, we're going to be okay..." Rhodey says to his niece as she nodded her head ever so lightly, at her Uncle.

"You can rest now." Tony says and when he pulls back from the hug he leans in to kiss her nose, and he sees her eyes fixed and glossy. Everything goes quiet, all around the standing heroes gather the full weight of what's happened dawning on them. Macy Stark is gone.
