My Runner (Discontinued)

chapter 1

Scarlet p.o.v

-Flashback when she came to the glade-

I had woken up in a moving metal box not knowing who i was or where i was,i tried to remember something about my life but nothing came up all that i remembered was that my name is Scarlet and that was it, suddenly the box i was in came to a stop. A pair of sliding doors above me opened up i cowered into a corner and shieled my eyes from the light. I heard voices from outside the box.

"Its a girl" a boy with blonde hair and a british accent yelled to other boys that were crowding the metal box i was in,i suddenly became self concious when i felt all the eyes on me. An asian looking boy jumped down into the box and held his hand out to me."welcome to the glade greenie,your lucky because your among the first of us to come to the glade. Im Minho and do you remember what yours is" the boy know as Minho said as i took his hand and stood up only to feel dizzy and fall into him,"woah careful there greenie" he says as he carries me out of the box he then lays me down on the ground and i look at all the faces looking down at me. "Welcome to the glade greenie this is your home now,im alby and the blondie over there is Newt and the tough looking idiot over there is Gally and over there is Winston" a boy with dark skin introduced. I sat up and looked at my surroundings feeling slightly scared "Scarlet" i say almost unsure of my own voice like i havent even heard my voice in years. "Thats good you remember your name well thats the only thing were allowed to keep" Alby says as he smiles at me and helps me up. He takes me around the place known as the glade and tells me all the different places he also explains that this place is surrounded by a maze which holds deadly creatures known as Grievers, i shivered at the thought at what those creatures looked like. I am led to a cafeteria looking place and a guy named frypan serves me food "you look hungry here your gonna need it greenie" " what does that even mean" i say slightly annoyed by the name "it means newbie, shank if you wanna survive you first gotta learn the language " Minho says as he sits beside me. Annoyed i sit quietly and finish the stew that Frypan served me,i was surprised that it tasted delicious and as soon as i was done i thanked him and walked to Minho. "So Minho what job do you do" i ask curiously "im a runner, i run the maze, map it out and find a way out" he says in a serious tone " cool so how do i become a runner" i ask with a smirk on my face "tch you but your just a girl" he says while laughing. I smirk and slap him round the head and start running from him as i hear him yelling while running close behind me.

-end of flashback- 

"And thats how i became a runner" i explain to the 12 year old in front of me known as Chuck. I ruffled his hair "yeah and who knew you could almost out run Minho" Newt says behind me,i turn and tackle him in a hug " whats up big brother"i say cheerfully and no we are not siblings but to me and him its like we are  "hey how was the maze any luck" he chuckles and releases me. I frown and shake my head. " no sadly not" " thats ok at least you and Minho could get some sort of alone time which reminds me have you told him" Newt says as he looks at me with a smirk "tell him what Chuck asks as he looks at my blushing face "nothing" i say all to quickly "nothing meaning she has feelings for Minho and theyve been running partners for 3 years and by that look no she hasnt told him, Klunk arent you ever gonna tell him" he smirks and chuck laughs at my red face " shut it shuck face and no im never gonna tell him because mr I-only-care-about-finding-a-way-of-the-maze is too busy to like me" i glare and stomp off towards the bonfire to sit with the other runners "whats got you so angry Scarlet" Minho says as he seed me sit beside him "Just Newt and Chuck goofing arounf teasing me nothing new" i say while staring at the fire,he just shrugs his shoulders and continues talking with Alby who i notice was standing there.

Later that night,i lay awake feeling slightly angry at myself at telling Newt how i like Minho but thats to be expected out of him since practically the whole glade full of boys have a crush on me ans a basically proposing right on the spot. I giggle at the thought and decide to get some sleep for tommorrow. I had a feeling it was gonna be a long day tommorrow.
