"Bangtan Sonyeondan is returning home with another Billboard Award!" The news anchor reports. My eyes flicker to the small TV screen that's positioned on the corner of the convenience store counter."Wow. Isn't that amazing? Truly the pride of our country." The cashier with peppered hair beams as he keeps his eyes glued to the screen while placing my purchases into the plastic bag.
A scoff escapes my lips as I watch the doe eyed boy parade through the airport with a smile stretched across his face. At least one of us is happy. I grabbed the bag and tossed a few bills onto the counter.
"Keep the change."
"Ya! Jade. You keep smoking those cancer sticks and we're going to have a problem." The old man calls after me.
A grin spreads across my face. "Thank you for caring. See you tomorrow Mr. Han!" I blow him a kiss and walk out the store. I could hear him tsk a few times before the door closed behind me.
The streets were quite empty. Just how I liked it. The air was cool and crisp. My favorite time of the year was always the transition from fall to winter. I walk along the sidewalk, swinging the plastic bag as I take in the air that's so much more fresh in comparison to the summer air.
"Wow. He's so handsome." I hear a bunch of school girls squeal as they peer into the glass window.
Out of curiosity, I turn to see what the commotion is all about. Of course, it a BTS commercial is being played. I can never escape them. They're everywhere.
"I'm going to date him." I hear another girl say in excitement, earning a scoff of amusement from me.
"I wonder how good he is in bed." Another pipes up.
A smirk stretches across my face when I thought back to the time when we would ditch class and hide out in the auditorium together.
"Faster..." My hand reached out to grip his hair, but he quickly grabbed my wrist and held them together above my head with his large hand.
"Faster who?" He held a mischievous glint in his dark brown eyes. He slipped out from inside me, causing me to whimper from his tease. He paused right at my entrance. "I said, faster who?" He growled, his eyes were filled with so much lust. His already dark brown eyes looked ebony under this dark light.
"Faster-" I didn't manage to get out the ending when he slammed into me with no warning, causing my eyes to roll back into my head.
"Ya. Ahjumma. What are you doing?" One of the girl's voices snaps me out of my memories. "You think you have a chance with any of them?" The group of girls laugh.
I quickly wipe my lips, when the metal taste of blood enters my mouth. I hadn't realized I was biting my lips.
I turn my focus back to the young girls. "Ahjumma?" I chuckle. "Shouldn't you be running off to school now? You're going to be late." I lift my wrist up and point to the watch. "Tick tock." I pop my gum in the face of the girl who spoke at me.
"Crazy lady." One of the girls says under her breath as they scramble away from me and towards the direction of the high school down the street.
Once they were gone, I turned back to the TV screen where the commercial was running. It's now replaced with a different ad. I scold myself for even thinking about him again. My head was clouded with thoughts of him as I approached Ace. I haven't thought of him in so long, what is going on today?
I slump in one of the seats at the bar and lay my head in my arms.
"Is our Jade sad today?" Hyun Soo jokes.
I pick my head up and see my him standing in front of me. "Make me a drink will you?"
"You realize that it's 7:30 AM and you have to clock in in 5 minutes right?"
I give him a blank look.
"And she doesn't care" He nods his head and goes to mix some drinks up. "Here ya go." He slides a cocktail glass my way.
I down it like I would a shot, earning a disapproving look from Hyun Soo.
I almost gag when the alcohol hits the back of my throat. "What the hell is this?" I chase the disgusting drink down with the orange juice that I bought earlier.
"It's a new drink I just made up." Hyun Soo exclaims proudly. "Isn't it delicious?"
"If it were delicious, would I have reacted the way I did?" I deadpanned.
He rolled his eyes at me. "First of all, you didn't drink it correctly and second of all, you need an attitude check."
"How about I come in tomorrow as a way to make it up for you." I offer.
"Deal!" He puts his hand out to shake mine and I accept, giggling in the process.
"There we go! The Jade I know is back."
"So what's happening tomorrow that you need extra hands?" I asked curiously. Hyun Soo is Type A. He's very serious about scheduling and always needs to have things in order, so he usually never over schedules or under schedules anyone.
"There's just a huge party coming in tomorrow. They're renting out all five of the VIP rooms."
My jaw drops. "Who the hell is coming? The President?" I gasped.
"President or not, that's almost 35k for one night." He sends me a wink. "Not including tips."
The mention of tips was enough to boost my mood. "Perfect timing. There's these new Prada boots I've been eyeing." I squeal as I head to the back to clock in.
