{a/n: this is a Christmas one sorry if you don't celebrate the holiday, also it is weird writing about Christmas when it's nowhere near December. Hope you enjoy it either way.}

-Christmas eve-

After spending nearly all my spare time with Draco over the holidays so far, we have grown really close. Draco and I have talked about everything; things from childhood to what our favourite spell is. In all honesty, Draco would have to be my second-best friend (Carter being first).

But today was Christmas Eve and I wasn't really all that excited for Christmas, I always saw it as the day my cousin got way too much attention. But I decided that I would sneak into the kitchen before I saw Draco so that I could make some Christmas cookies to share with him. I used to do this all the time with Harry, but we never had the chance to eat any of them; even the bad ones, were thrown out.

I spent my entire holidays with Draco, to the extent that I haven't even seen my twin brother. The same brother with who I spent every day of my life up until we came to Hogwarts. Sure, it hurts, but had we not come here I would never have grown close to Carter, I would never have met Draco. I would never see the world that muggles will never get to see.

When the food is finished and cooled, I decorate them and place them on a plate and sneak them back into the Slytherin common room.

"Where did you go? Wait- what are those?" Draco said as he stuck his head over one of the couches looking at the plate in my hands. I smile and walk over and sit beside him.

"I made Christmas biscuits and decorated them. I didn't have a recipe, so I don't know if they taste good. I made them so we could share." Draco smiles as I give him a tree-shaped cookie. He takes a bite of the sweet food and his eyes light brighter than I thought was possible. He smiles and grabs several more cookies. In the time Draco had eaten nine I had eaten two. When he realised, he looked at me with guilt in his eyes.

"Sorry, I ate most of them. You should eat the rest of them. I mean you made them. " I smile and take two more cookies leaving three more on the plate, I pass the plate to the blonde boy and indicate for him to eat them. He gives me a grateful smile and takes the plate. "Thank you, they are really good. How did you get the recipe right if you didn't have one?" the curiosity in his voice is noticeable. I smile and look down.

"Harry and I used to cook them and give them to my aunt, uncle and cousin. Although this was the first time that I have tasted them. And you are right they are quite nice."

"Why have you never had them before?"

"Well as I said we made them for the Dursley's. Harry and I never got to have first served to food. And if we made bad food, it was thrown out and we couldn't leave our room for a week." After I said this Draco went quiet. I didn't expect him to say anything. He had a rich family, he only had good food.

But instead of saying anything, Draco placed the plate on the other side of him and wrapped his arms around me and hugged me. I hugged him back. It was a silent way of thanking him.

The rest of the day Draco and I spent together in silence – not an awkward one, a safe silence. A silence that makes people feel like they could spend eternity there and it only feels like moments. The type of silence that makes a person feel cared for. I never felt this type of silence.

---time skip to Christmas day---

After a much-needed sleep, I walked down to the common room and saw that it was decorated with a tree, lights and tinsel. It was a sight I was used to; it was how my aunt and Uncle treated Dudley.

I spotted gifts under the tree. I didn't put them there, although I had wrapped up several muggle books that I had enjoyed and believed Draco would also enjoy, they were placed under my bed. I also had a container of cookies that Draco had enjoyed yesterday. I was beyond confused until I saw Draco sitting in front of the fire. So, before he noticed I had come down I snuck to my dorm and grabbed the gifts and made my way back down.

"Happy Christmas Draco," I said as I sat beside him and passed the gifts that I had covered in  newspaper.

"Merry Christmas Y/N." when he spotted the gifts he went to the tree and got two boxes (one was left under the tree). Both were wrapped using dark green paper. I looked at him and smiled.

"Thank you, I have never gotten a gift from anyone by Harry." When I opened the smaller box, it was a ring; the band had the patterns of a snake and the eyes were small green gems, it was beautiful. I thank him again and place the ring on my hand. The second box was larger, and it was a magical camera, I had heard about them through some of the older students. The camera makes photos that when developed move. {this is the only way I could phrase it, so it doesn't sound like I am describing a video camera}

I thanked Draco again, and watched as he opened his gifts from me, he looked interested in the books. After a while, I was getting too curious.

"Hey, Draco? What is that one gift under the tree?" unlike the gift Draco gave me it was wrapped with black paper.

"I thought you had got that for me?" I shook my head no. Draco got up and got the unknown present and passed it to me. "It has Y/N Potter on it." I took the mysterious gift and started to open it. I noticed a note and chose to read that first.

'Dear Mx Y/N Potter,

This is something which I believe will be something you are interested in.

I hope it brings great joy.'

I looked to see what this item was. I opened it to see a book that had 'The Marauders journey through Hogwarts.' I was very confused.
