When I wake, I am covered in paper, my hand is sore, but I don't remember why. I look at the papers and realised, when I was mad last night, I was not in full control. Maybe I had blacked out, maybe I did it half asleep. I don't know, but I will figure it out later when I read what I wrote.

As I went down the stairs to the common room after getting dressed, I notice that the common room is looking normal again. No holiday cheer, no mess from Draco and I messing around. It clicks at this moment the students are returning tomorrow. The castle will be full of life, more chaos will follow the return of many students. The ghosts will roam the halls with the students and staff, but that means I won't hang out with Draco much again.

I'm sure he would prefer to not be seen with a 'half-blood' as many of my fellow Slytherins have referred to me as. I'm sure he wants to keep his reputation and I am ok with that because at least I will be able to hang out with Carter. I had sent them a few letters over the break, and they sent some back in return, so we both already knew most of what occurred over the holidays.

I notice Draco is not waiting in the common room, which he has done recently, and I know he rarely sleeps in, so I go to the dining hall to look for him. As I enter, I see the blonde-haired boy, moving the food around on his plate. He appears to be deep in his thoughts. I approach the table and sit opposite him. He has yet to acknowledge that I am here, or maybe he hasn't yet noticed I have arrived.

I clear my throat; he looks startled as he looks up and sees me. Something is up, and I am going to find out what it is, but for now, I will enjoy the final day of quiet with Draco and ask him about it later. We start talking about how it will be weird seeing kids roaming the halls again. As Draco goes on about how he is annoyed by people, I feel someone staring at me. I subtly look around, and see Harry looking at me, when we make eye contact, he looks away.

I am still mad at him, but I feel lonely since arriving, even if I have plenty of people to be around. When thinking about my brother I remembered that he, Ron, and Hermione had a mystery that I was helping, although the boys didn't know that. Eventually, Draco pulled me from my thoughts, he noticed I was distracted. I brush it off as I was just excited to see Carter again. We continued talking until we both finished our meals.

After breakfast, I decide to give Draco some alone time and went to the library. As I arrived Hermione's owl swopped in with a letter. I take the letter and I thank the owl as I begin to read the letter.

"Y/N,

I need you to continue looking for something that the school could possibly be hiding from the students. I cannot remember where in the book it mentions it, nor what it mentions. But I do believe it is near the middle of the book. Sorry I cannot give you much help looking for it exactly.

- H.G"

As I read the note, I realise this I must read much of the book to try and find whatever I am looking for without know what I am needing to look for. This will not be an easy task. I sit at a table and write a letter in return.

"Hermione,

I will do my best, as it is a large book. I will read the book today and try to have the information we would find valuable marked down. See you when you arrive back at school tomorrow.

- Y/N P"

I send the letter via owl and begin the search. I look through the book. It is only now I remember Hermione borrowed this for what she considers 'light reading'. She reads way too many books. After a while Draco joins me silently reading his own book, not questioning me. After a while I begin skimming the pages and trying to find relevant information, I get close to the middle and I see something. It's a couple of pages about a man named Nicolas Flamel. It read:

"Flamel is the only known maker of the philosophers stone, it makes the 'Elixir of Life' which is produced by the stone and caused immortality. "

There was a lot more information on him, but I marked that page specifically. It seemed to be the closest to what would be hidden in the school and guarded. After a while of reading, I was finally able to close the book, I never read that much in one sitting before. It's only now I feel Draco's eyes on me, I look at him confused.

"What?" I laugh

"Nothing, I just find it strange you read that much of a book, why did you read it? You aren't really into history." His response has me shocked, I didn't know he focused on what I said that much, but I just shrug and pretend to zip my lips, signifying it was a secret I couldn't tell him. He groaned I guess he really wants to know.

"I will tell you when I can, but right now it is a secret, I can't tell anyone." He sighs and moves to the couch as we talk. I'm honestly not ready for other students to get back, I enjoy Draco and my friendship.
