{A/N: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 1.2K READS!}

After the Carter arrived, I told them EVERYTHING; from giving Draco the book, to him comforting me after the fight with my brother. I know Draco didn't want me mentioning the book to anyone, but Carter isn't anyone – they are my best friend. I have a rule; if you share a brain-cell with them they know everything they want to know. {A/N: yes, this is a genuine rule me and my friends have} I tell them everything that happens, and they do the same in return, it's just how it works.

To say they were surprised is an understatement.

"I mean Draco reading a muggle book, isn't he like muggle-phobic or something?" yes, a quote from the amazing Carter Evan everyone. And trust me when they said this I had to agree. We talk until we pass out about how our days were, how our essays are working and every other topic we can think of.

-morning-

As always, my owl wakes us up and Carter falls to the floor. As always, I laugh at them. It never gets old.

"Are you ever going to stop that? it has been weeks and every time you roll-off," I giggle.

"Are you ever going to stop having an owl wake you up?" the comment is a joke we both know so we ignore it. "Hey, don't you have a Quidditch game today?" Carter asks, and I remember that I do, and it's against Gryffindor. Great. Now I have to see Harry.

"Yeah, against Gryffindor. Maybe if I beat him I will better?" I sigh Carter looks at me with remorse clear in their eyes, they ignore the comment, and we head to the great hall, when I enter, I am dragged to where the Slytherin quidditch team is sitting. I make sure to drag Carter with me.

When I sat down my plate was immediately filled with food such as eggs and bacon, all done by my teammates. To quote 'ensure you have plenty of energy to kick some red and yellow lions butts!' I eat some of the food not wanting to eat too much that I feel sick.

After we are dismissed the team and I go to get into our uniforms, when I walk into my room there is a wrapped present on my bed, it looks to be a long and thin book. When I pick it up a note drops, and I read it and it says:

'I hope you play as well as your father did for his team, that way you can help lead Slytherin to victory this year.' The note looks to have been written on a typewriter instead of handwritten.

When I open the gift, I see it is a broom. I think it was similar to one harry saw at Diagon Ally. The Nimbus 2000. The person who gave me this is I have to thank them when I found out who they are.

-Time skip-

I head down to the quidditch field ready to play my first actual game. The only experience I had playing the game was during team training, where we all just played and practiced, not really trying to win.

I see the Slytherin team, there are still a few teammates missing. We wait until they show up. A few people question the broom, I tell the truth; it was on my bed and it came from an anonymous person. We quickly move on,  figuring out our plan for the game.

It's now time to start flying, and for the first time since arriving at Hogwarts, I am ready to face this head-on and with no sign of hesitation. I will help my team and be the best beater I can be.
