If I spend another day in this house laying in bed like this i'm going to lose my mind.
I just can't motivate myself to get up.
I stir around and I look back seeing Tahari laying beside me. I twirl my necklace and start to cry at how much she looks like her father. I missed him so much.
Tahari is my 5 year old daughter. I had her when I turned 19 when me and her dad, Tyliq, got drunk one night and had a one night stand. We had been friends since 6th grade but never took it further than that until that night.
See, everybody used to think we talked or fucked around but truthfully Tyliq was gay and I'm pansexual but I mainly dated girls. We just didn't want anybody in our business.
We were both just going through bad break ups, we got drunk, and just slipped up. We never regretted it though because we got our beautiful baby girl out of it.
He was the perfect dad, honestly.
Sadly, three months ago his ex-boyfriend Gianni murdered him. Gianni and Tyliq were together since they were both 18. They were in a toxic relationship and broke up one time for like a year. That was when Tahari was born.
Gianni found out about our little situation and flipped shit, but that somehow brought them back together.
They stayed together after that no breaks and we all thought they were doing better, Tyliq even talked about them getting engaged.
Little did we know, Gianni was abusing him for years.
One night, Tyliq called me crying and asked me to come get him, he said he couldn't do it anymore and to hurry before something bad happened.
I sped to his house immediately but by the time I got there it was too late.
Flashback ~
When I got to the house, the door was open so I grabbed my gun and went in. I always kept it in the car.
I walked in and found Tyliq lying on the ground with blood coming out his mouth and eyes. He was still breathing so I hurried and dialed 911 with tears in my eyes and my heart beating fast.
"Toota" he said low with his voice laced with pain "I need you to listen"
"Tyty please don't talk... just hold on. The ambulance is coming" I cried holding his hand trying to put pressure on the gunshot wound going through his stomach. I was now soaked in his blood, too.
