It's been about a week or two of Nauti keeping her distance from me. I wasn't too upset because I understood and it truly gave me a lot of time to think.
I'm currently in my backyard setting up dinner for me and Nautica. I was finally going to tell her how I've really been feeling about her. I'm tired of being scared and holding back. I wanted to meet my soulmate and even if it doesn't end up being Nautica in the long run i'd still be grateful for trying and experiencing her love.

I finished the last touches and went to get dressed to go get the groceries.

I was at Publix waiting while the man wrapped up my salmon when my phone started ringing. I saw the ID was Mecklenburg County Police Department and furrowed my eyebrows before answering the phone.
"Hello?" i said into the phone with my face still scrunched up. The man behind the counter gave me my stuff and I pushed my buggy along.
"Hi, this is Officer Balhorne with CMPD this Aris Matthews?" he asked.
"Why? She got a warrant?" i asked. I'm not falling into no trap.
He chuckled, "no, no. I have some information but since it doesn't seem lik-" I cut him off before he could finish.
"This is Aris, I just didn't want to get set up and sent to jail for nothing. Can't have that." i said picking up a bag of apple cinnamon rice cake chips and throwing them in the buggy.
"No worries," he said chucking. "I'm calling because a woman by the name of Sinclair Adams came and turned herself in for the assault that caused you to be in the emergency room. She's currently going through booking but we thought you'd appreciate a courtesy call." he said.
It's like all of the blood drained out of my body right then and there. "W-what do you mean she turned herself in? What did she say? Where has she been?" i said to him maybe a little too loudly.
"Listen, I feel like this would be better discussed in person. How about you call me when you're ready to sit down and talk? I'd recommend calling your lawyer to be present as well, Sinclair and her lawyer will be in attendance." he said making my stomach turn. I felt like I was going to get sick.
"O-okay" is all I could say before I just hung up.
I did not want to deal with that right now. Today is supposed to be a good day and I want to keep it that way. Nothing is stopping me.
I sent Nautica a text telling her to come over later.
Laya 🌺❤️🔥 Hey, I need to talk to you. Can you come over later around 9?
Delivered.
She didn't respond right away so I clicked my power button and finished shopping. I loaded everything up in the car and then made my way home. She still hasn't texted back.
