Asami desperately wiped the runny mascara off her face. Tossing her sketching notebook and pen to the side. It'd been a long day at work— she was simply overwhelmed and frustrated— that didn't stop her body from shuddering in its place. Or the tears that escaped the confines of her lashes. Moments ago she heard the door swing open, the sound of keys being thrown on the table.

Soon, she knew she'd hear Korra's footsteps make their way to their room. Within seconds of her initial guess, the quiet taps filled the hallway. Asami walked over to the other side of the room, trying to make it to the bathroom before Korra walked in.

"Hey Asami!" Korra beamed, "How was your day?"

Asami still had her back turned to her wife, even as she wrapped her arms around her waist, pulling her hair out of the way and placing a kiss on the crook of her neck. Korra heard the small whimper from the back of Asami's throat, it choked its way out, her pain aching to be heard. As quickly as she had gotten upstairs to be with her wife, she was determined to make Asami feel better.

Bringing her back over to their bed, letting Asami snuggle up into the comforter and wrap herself around Korra's body. Letting her cry for as long as she needed. As much as she hated watching Asami cry, she knew from experience that sometimes it was the only thing that helped. The best thing she could possibly do was be there for her. "Do you wanna talk about it?", Korra whispered. Hands threading through Asami's hair. "We don't have to, of course I just want you to know I'm here."

"It's been a really hard week at work.", Asami murmered. Cradling closer to Korra's chest, the beat of her heart slowly easing her nerves. "I missed a deadline. Varrick's pissed. I just can't seem to figure out this project."

"Oh love. It's going to be okay." She whispered back. Kissing the top of her head. "Did Varrick say anything to you? Do you want me to talk to him?" Korra offered.

"No, he just... He was acting differently when I told him and he told me he needed the designs as soon as possible. He looked so disappointed and-"

There it was. She heard it as soon as she said it, Korra probably realized where this was headed long before she did.

"Nobody's disappointed in you. Varrick's just stressed. He's a businessman, he knows there's bumps in the road."

Asami leaned in, pressing a small kiss onto Korra's lips as she wiped a tear from her face. "I know." Asami murmured. "You always seem to know how to make me feel better."

"It helps when you have experience needing that kind of support."

They stayed like that for a long while. Korra listened while Asami talked about what had been happening at work the past few weeks. Most of her stressors came from the fact she was completely alone. Of course there was Varrick, but he didn't really work all that often. Even when he did, he was not keen on social skills. Meaning he piled his work onto Asami without even realizing it was stressing her out.

"You need to create boundaries with him." Korra sighed.

Asami rolled over, letting their bare bodies brush against eachother. Korra pulled one of her legs over the rest of her body. Letting her hand rest on her thigh.

"I just don't want him to think that I'm being lazy." Asami admitted.

Korra cupped her face, kissing the soft skin under her cheekbone. "I don't know what Varrick considers lazy, but I'm sure you don't come to mind."

Asami nodded. Something about her demeanor told Korra that she wasn't 100% convinced.

Asami wasn't sure why she let herself get like this. How she could belittle herself to the point of feeling worthless. She was an accomplished CEO, raising an almost bankrupt company from the ground, she helped the Avatar and her friends save Republic City and the world on multiple occasions. She was not lazy, nor was she a failure. Even on her worst days, when her body and mind betrayed her, Korra was there for her.

Korra loved her unconditionally.

"I'm so proud of you. Of everything you do for the city, for me. Of how far you've come." Korra whispered. "You don't deserve to feel like this."

Asami lifted up to adjust herself, Korra's hands following suit. Wanting her wife to feel comfortable as possible. She wasn't fully expecting it when Asami kissed her. Pulling her closer, huffing out a needy sigh. Korra accepted the notion, knowing Asami wasn't likely sure what she wanted.

Returning the effort wasn't a choice. It was something she wanted, needed, and enjoyed. Feeling the soft warmth of Asami's tongue dragging across her own. Hands caressing the divet between her waist and backside. Asami melted into her touch. Her care. Korra lulled forward, letting Asami lay on the bed. "Are you sure this is okay?"

"Yes, I just don't know if I can..."

"I can take care of you, it's okay. This is your night." Korra whispered. "Is this what you want?"

One of Korra's hands wrapped above her head, intertwining their fingers as they kissed. Her other hand trailed up her body, teasing at one of her nipples. Asami let the back of her neck rest on Korra's arm. "There you go. Good girl." Korra whispered. "Just let go."

And with that she did, allowing her stiff muscles to relax in Korra's grasp. That's one of the many things she loved about Korra. No matter how much of herself she hid in public she was never forced to be someone she wasn't in the privacy of their home. Her hand trailed down further still kissing her lover's lips, softly as she did so. Asami's hand trembled as she grasped Korra's hand urging her closer to her sex.

Korra let her hands travel down her closed thighs. "This still okay?"

Asami couldn't help but smile. Korra was here, she cared so much. None of the things that were clouding her mind were bothering her anymore. Korra hummed, reiterating the question she had just asked.

"Yes. Please, Korra."

Korra's hands worked wonders. Letting her fingers make passes through her folds. Her lips found purchase on her neck, kissing and sucking on that sweet spot. Her hand tightened its grip. around Korra's when she started those tight little circles that drove her crazy. Her body tensed up, quicker than expected, but she wouldn't let her orgasm pass. Not without Korra's permission.

Blue eyes met her gaze and Korra realized instantly what she was doing. "You don't have to wait, l don't want you to last, not now. It's alright."

One of Korra's fingers sank into her entrance, then another. Asami gasped as Korra found that soft spot, the muscle already swollen— though she would have been able to find it either way— especially with the sounds of approval Asami made as she thrusted against the bundle of nerves.

Korra leaned down, kissing her lover as her muscles rippled around her fingers. Asami came, wrapped around in the safety of her wife's strong arms. Spilling into her hand. Sobbing her relief into her mouth. "Just like that sweet girl. Doing so well." Korra murmured, as Asami buried her face into her lover's chest.

Riding out the rest of her orgasm, prolonged by Korra's palm creating a pleasant amount of friction on her clit. When she came down from her high, Korra was there. Smiling down on her with those bright eyes, always so happy. A hand cupped her face, thumb grazing her cheekbone. "I love you."

I am loved.

I am wanted.

I am safe.

All the things that Asami longed for, as long as she could remember. Korra would remind her everyday that she had all of them. In their relationship and in their friendships. "I love you too." she whispered.
