CRAVING FREDDIE

Part 41:...take another piece of my heart.

Heddie was prepped and ushered into the OR.  Dr. Allen Sheldon was scrubbing and telling one of the nurses to be on the lookout for Timothy Devries. Trust me, she told her, he will be easily recognizable, very few people carry themselves in the manner that he does. King-like.

"ALLEN" Heddie screamed, "somethings wrong, the pain, there shouldn't be this much pain, should there,  owwwwwww?"

"Let's see what the sonogram shows us" the doctor said.

The nurse squeezed all the goo over Heddie's abdomen and turned the monitor towards her so that she could see. Allen grabbed the transducer from the technician's hands and pressed it against her abdomen. Around and around he went, till he stopped and said, "there it is."

"What, what, Allen" Heddie yelled.

"Calm down Heddie,  all will be fine. We are  going to do a Caesarian  section now to remove the baby. Your extreme pain is caused by the little devil moving and tugging the umbilical cord  and  pulling the placenta. He seems to be one big and active baby itching to make his way into the world."

"Well, what did you expect? " she asked with raised eyebrows, not having to explain what she meant, Dr. Sheldon already knew. 

"Ms. Devries, your father is here asking to be in the delivery room, but that is absolutely not allowed" said the nurse.

"Nurse Marta, it'll be alright. Have him scrub up  and put a set of "greens" on him and tell him to hurry, this baby wants out and if he's  anything like his fath...uh, mother, it's best to give into him" said Dr. Sheldon.    

Timothy was hurried into the OR and grabbed Heddie's hand.

"Daddy, if anything happens to me, tell Freddie" Heddie said

"Okay, folks, here we go, breathe deeply Heddie, it will all be over soon" Allen told her and gently squeezed her arm.

"Wha, wha, whaaaaaaa," the first sounds out of little Timothy Frederick Devries.

"Very strong, forceful and on key" joked Dr. Allen Sheldon.

"Timothy, he's truly very beautiful as you would expect. He's a little of both but quite beautiful" Allen said.

"He quite big, isn't he?" asked Heddie's father.

"Yes he is" said nurse Marta. "He has a strong voice, powerful vocal cords and is extremely active for a newborn and without out being too personal, he has the largest set of genitals I have ever seen on a newborn."

"Allen, can I hold him?" Asked Timothy.

"Of course" and Dr. Sheldon handed the tot over to Timothy.

"My first grandchild, I can't believe it, but I'm saddened at the same time. I always felt Freddie had the right to know he was to become a father."

"Tim, it's Heddie's choice and we can't do a thing about it."

"When will Heddie awaken?"

"Give her a few hours to become fully sentient. She'll want to see and hold her baby of course" Allen said.

Timothy handed the baby back to Nurse Marta who looked at the child with loving  eyes. She had never seen a more beautiful baby with a crown of dark hair and chocolate eyes. Most babies are born with blue eyes and they change over a matter of time, but this baby is different. Nurse Marta  felt this baby  was special.  She had no idea.

Timothy walked into Dr. Sheldon's office, sat down at his desk and picked up the phone. 

"London, please."
