Scarlett dreamed of Olivia the whole night, the way her face would light up when their eyes meet, the way a smile will show up on her lips before saying hello, the way their first hug after a week would feel like and in an other dream Scarlett and Olivia were about to kiss, before Scarletts alarm went off. She never hated her alarm as much as in that moment. Her first move was putting her fingers to her lips, the one Olivia nearly kissed in her dream. During breakfast Scarlett was so deep in her thoughts that she had to choose what to wear in 5 minutes what felt impossible on such an important day. Still smiling, her fingers touching her lips every other minute, Scarlett left for school- her thoughts still spinning around the dream and then before realizing it she stood in front of the one she already spend an hour thinking about. Looking into Olivias eyes took away all of her daydreamy thoughts, because how could that be possible- Scarlett would swear that Olivias eyes just got brighter and greener as soon as they smiled at each other.
"I missed you.", said Olivia before they broke their hugg. Scarlett took a deep breath in, trying to calm her nerves that are way too focused on Olivias mouth at her ear whispering but forgot that by doing so she is taking in the way Olivia smells. Scarlett never realized but she could swear that Olivia smells like a flower garden after summer rain, the most breathtaking scent she ever smelled. "I missed you too. You have to tell me everything about Munich and your weekend.", Scarlett replies after breaking there hugg and taking the seat next to Olivia. "How about we meet up tomorrow after class ? I can cook for us." Did Olivia really just proposed to cook lunch for her? Scarlett had to remain focused, otherwise she would not be able to stopp smiling ever again. "Sounds great, I'll be there." Was the last thing Scarlett said before they started to join the group talk about everything that happened during their different trips.
While listening to her biology teacher Scarlett thought about her dream and the way the conversation in the train made her feel. She knew she has to talk some one, but to whom? Most of her friends are also close with Olivia and she clearly does not want to make them feel uncomfortable or worse, saying something to Olivia, so she texted the only other queer person she knew- Amy.
They did not text as regular as in the beginning and no one ever mentioned a date, so Scarlett knew that she would not break Amys heart by saying that there is something else.
"Hi Amy, Can I talk to you about something? Or rather someone? "
"Of course. I wanted to ask you the same but thought it would be awkward, so I'm glad you asked. "The relief was written in Scarletts face as she read the respond. The next break Scarlett spend in the bathroom tipping everything she dreamed about to the other girl. Amy just listened and did not really tried to make any sense out of it, as if she knew that Scarlett just needed someone to be there for her. Their conversation went on the whole day, Amy also sharring that she crushes on her best friends sister and has no idea what to do about that. Scarlett was happy that she is not the only one who has no clue what is going on in her life.
During the first break Olivia subconsciously looked for ginger hair, not being able to find it she got a bit upset. In the second break she decided to look for Scarlett, finding her on a bench between trees where no one else where. At the moment that Olivia wanted to say something she saw that Scarlett smilied as soon as her phone made a noise, stating that there is a new message. Looking at Scarletts smile that is caused by some one else made Olivias heart feel heavy, she decided to turn around and walk away. How should she know that she was indeed the person that made Scarlett smile this bright?
With a bit of help from Amy Scarlett knew that it would be best if she just talks to Olivia about the way she is feeling. But even the thought of it makes her feel sick, they do not normally talk about deeper thoughts they like to keep it light and fun. Scarlett knew that THAT talk could change everything between them, she was not even sure if Olivia knew that she is interested in girls and definetly had no idea how Olivia will react. Scarlett wondered how it was possible that they never talked about sexuality in general and Scarletts specific, but than it hit her- Olivia is straight. She had a boyfriend till a few weeks ago and one before changing schools. They never talked about queer stuff because Olivia assumes that Scarlett is straight as well. FUCK, Scarlett knew she needs to change that before being able to mention that she has a crush on Olivia.
Laying in bed that night Scarlett did not smile, she cried because she knew that she somehow has to dropp hints about being queer to the one person, whoose reaction is scaring her the most. For Scarlett coming out was never a real problem, her friends and parents were cool with it and did not change a bit. But coming out to Olivia suddenly seems impossible. What if Olivia stopped talking to her, starts sharing it to all the people that really don't have to know or switches from daily contact to ignorance? All of these thoughts got the better of Scarletts good night sleep. She did not know when she felt asleep but she could swear that she only slept for 20 minutes before her alarm went off and she had to get out of bed, with no desire of doing so. Today is the day she and Olivia will meet which means that it is also the day that Scarlett needs to start with dropping hints without making it to obvious that she likes Olivia.
