Chapter 9

Felicia and MJ examined Peter's body. taking in all the damage the creature had caused him. She felt tears threatening to fall from her eyes but she held them back, trying to stay strong so she can get to work on healing her boyfriend. Felicia looked up at MJ and saw the same worried expression on her face as well.

"MJ can you get us some ice, please? I need to get the first aid kit from the bathroom. " Said, Felicia

MJ nodded and went into the kitchen while Felicia stepped past Miles and walked into the bathroom. She opened up the little medicine cabinet underneath the sink. She took out the first aid kit that she and Peter always left there, just in case things like this happened. She opened the medium-sized green box and made sure everything was there before she once again entered the bedroom. She saw that MJ had now returned and was applying the ice to Peter's bruised jaw, which was very clearly broken. Felicia winced slightly before she spotted the worried look on Miles's face and gave him a gentle touch on his cheek. Miles met her eyes as she began to speak. "You should go home and get some rest Miles, your mother is going to be worried, especially with a new threat to the city running around. "

"Yeah, you are probably right. Is Pete going to be okay?" asked Miles as he looked past Felicia and looked at Peter's battered body lying on the bed.

Felicia looked back at Peter's motionless body as well and shook her head slightly at the sight. "I am sure he will be, we just need his powers to heal him now more than ever. " Felicia turned back to Miles and gave him a gentle squeeze on his shoulder. "Thank you for saving his life, if you weren't there then I could be without Peter, so thank you, Miles. "

Miles gave Felicia a shy smile before nodding his head, he gave MJ a smile before he climbed through the open window in the bedroom and swung away, in the direction of Harlem, leaving Felicia and MJ alone to tend to Peter. Felicia started to clean the blood from her boyfriend's face with a cloth that MJ handed her. MJ watched as Felicia gently ran the cloth over Peter's face, her mind was racing with many things. On one hand, she was worried about the condition Peter was in, on the other hand, she was thinking about what the hell this creature was.

"I hate seeing him like this. " Said Felicia as she broke the silence of the room. MJ met Felicia's eyes and gave her a knowing nod as she ran her hand through Peter's brown hair.

"Yeah " MJ sighed as she smoothed the hair from his forehead. " He always seems to bounce back from anything but I haven't seen him this beat up in a very long time. The last time he was like this was when Fisk cut him up like pork sausage with a sword. I had to steal my dad's car and drive him to the hospital before he bled out. "

Felicia looked at MJ as she continued to clean Peter's face, she listened to MJ's story about having to save Peter's life and it made her smile slightly at everything he had been through but he was still here, making bad jokes that he thought were great. Felicia's smile left her face the more she thought of Peter, the tears that threatened to fall earlier came back and this time she let them fall. Felicia started to sob at the sight of Peter, even with trying to clean his face up a bit, he still looked as if he was dead.

MJ watched the blonde as she started to cry, she slowly reached across the bed and pulled Felicia into a tight hug. Felicia appreciated the comfort that MJ was trying to provide and started to cry into MJ's shoulder, while the redhead stroked her back gently.

"Sssssh it's okay, Pete is going to make it. He is going to wake up in no time and think he is the funniest guy in the world. He will give you that same goofy smile every time you walk into a room, we just have to hold onto hope that he can heal properly. "

Felicia leaned back and nodded at what MJ said. "Let's get Peter back to normal, shall we? " Asked Felicia as MJ gave her a slight smirk before they both got back to work healing the injured Spider-Man.
