Ally's POV
"After you, babe," David spoke, opening up the car door for me.
Babe...??
Oh, he still thought he was in control...didn't he?
That's fucking funny.
I looked at him through the strands of hair that had fallen in front of my face. Raising up an eyebrow, I stared at him for a few seconds. He continued to have his hand on the top of the frame of the door, although as the seconds dragged on, he was slowly losing whatever cockiness he had.
He cleared his throat and shuffled on his feet.
I really needed to clean up this loose end.
The more that I stared at David, the more that I realized that he was just another one of Evan's pawns that he could throw away. Why else would he have sent him to keep an eye on me? It was all too obvious what his intentions were.
That's why he needed to die.
I couldn't underestimate one of Evan's followers – look at what happened to Brendon. I never expected to lower my guard with him. I didn't suspect him and I had been blind-sided. I had been made a fool of by Evan Hale, and it wasn't going to happen again.
David was going to die, and it was going to be all too easy to do it.
"Hm," I hummed out, placing a leg out of the car slowly. I glanced at the large house that was currently empty. "You know..." I stood up fully, now outside of the car. A hand went to the back of my tucked in shirt. "You kind of suck at your job, David..." I muttered, placing both of my hands on top of his.
His body became frigid and tense.
I slowly grinned, "Yeah," I continued, since he wasn't talking back. "You really showed your worth to Evan at the dance yesterday..." One of my hands crept slowly up his arm. He was still wearing his suit jacket and hadn't taken it off. "You have everything under control, don't you?" I took a step towards him and closed the car door suddenly.
David quickly removed his hands.
I really wanted to see them become squished if he continued to dawdle. The bones poking out at awkward angles as they jutted out of the skin. The blood pouring onto the concrete from the mangled flesh that resembled raw meat.
But...
No, he was too aware of danger at this point.
I needed to make him lower his guard.
He took a step away from me as I took a step towards the lone house. It wasn't placed in a neighborhood and was very far away from the nearest house. "Hey," I turned towards him, my hands placed innocently behind me. That got his attention, he let out a flinch and faced me. I could see how heavy he was breathing.
Sad.
Pathetic.
Just like every other man that I had interacted with, unfortunately.
"Well?" He jumped at the sound of my voice. I rolled my eyes. "Aren't you going to walk me to the door?" I pointed to the darkened house behind me. "You need to watch me for Evan, don't you?" I prompted, to which he began to cautiously walk towards me. I watched as he came closer to me, a growing smile on my face.
The moment that he was beside me, I began to walk with him.
He's scared.
I can hear his breathing.
