A few days have passed since I met the guys. And I haven't really talked to anyone on the team other than Momoi. We got closer as the days went by since we were spending a bunch of time together. I am finally getting comfortable here. Though I do miss all my family up in Miyagi.
"Hey, Sawamura can you refill the guys' water bottles I gotta run down to my teachers real quick?" Momoi asked pushing a cart towards me.
I nodded, "Yeah no problem."
I grabbed the cart from her and pushed it to the water fountain. This is what I did mostly since I'm still learning the ropes of basketball but I'll get the hang of it.
"Hey, Sawamura right?" One of the guys from the other day asked.
I turned around, "Yeah your Haizaki."
"You need some help?" He asked as I started filling the water bottles one by one.
"No I'm fine you should get back before the coach or captain finds out your gone," I say as he grabbed a water bottle anyway and started to fill it.
"Eh it's fine," He shrugged.
"Why do you play basketball?" I questioned to pass time since he wasn't gonna stop helping me.
"Just playing to pass time," He admitted.
My eyes widen slightly, "Really? Your really good for someone who doesn't care about the game." I chuckled as he shook his head.
"Guess so," He grinned.
"Haizaki leave Sawamura alone," I hear Momoi scoffs.
"What I'm just helping. Nonthin wrong with that," He shrugged putting down the last water bottle he filled.
I turned to see Momoi rolling her eyes with her arm crossed, "Whatever just leave her alone she doesn't need the help of an asshole."
He put his hands up, "Fine whatever. See you later Sawamura," He winked as he ran back to practice.
"Did he do anything?" She asked as she started to fill the water bottles with me.
I shook my head, "No he was just helping me fill these water bottles."
Her eyes narrowed like she didn't believe he could ever be nice to anyone. I don't understand why she calls him an asshole. What did he do to her?
