For the past couple of days, I've been getting into a routine of things. Everything was different from when I lived in Miyagi. I actually wouldn't mind if we stayed here longer than I expected in the beginning. I was getting closer to everyone on the team, including the one person Momoi hates, Haizaki. I haven't really had time to talk to him, but that's probably because Momoi makes it her mission to keep us apart.
"Sawamura-san, can you fill up the water bottles? And please, Haizaki-kun, can you help her since Momoi-san is busy?" Nijimura asks as I look over to Haizaki, who is standing there with his arms behind his head.
"Yeah, sure," he grins as I start to grab the water bottles and head out of the gym with him following behind me. "So, Chibi-chan, why did you move to Tokyo?" he questions.
I shrug, "Didn't get much of a choice in moving here, Haizaki-kun. Anything else you want to know before we both go back into the gym?" I chuckle as he just shakes his head.
Once I finish filling one of the bottles, he grabs it from me, screws the lid on, and hands me another bottle. He's actually helping me fill the water bottles as the captain asked. From what I heard, he doesn't like to listen to anybody.
"So, Haizaki-kun, I heard you have a bad rep. So why are you being so nice to me?" I question as I fill the last water bottle we have left to fill.
He just stands there smirking, "That's something for you to figure out, Chibi-chan."
I take all of the bottles and just walk back into the gym, leaving him standing there. Did he just call me Chibi-chan? Weird. I grab the rest of the bottles he has left and walk them into the gym, setting them with the rest of them.
"Sawamura-chan, where have you been?" Momoi asks as she stands right next to Aomine.
"I was filling up water bottles with Haizaki like Nijiumra-senpai asked," I say as I grab the water bottles and start handing them out.
Once I hand Aomine his water bottle, I look over to Momoi, and she's standing there in shock, "Why was Haizkai helping you?" she asks as she pulls me away from the rest of the guys.
I shrug, "Nijimura-senpai asked him to. Trust me, I don't know why he helped me. I'm wondering about it myself."
She quickly hugs me, and it's a tight one too, "Please stay away from him. I don't want you to get hurt," she pauses for a second before letting me go, "I've heard many bad things about him, and I know I don't know if they're true, but I'd rather you be safe than sorry."
"Okay, I'll try to keep my distance, but I have a feeling he won't stop until he gets what he wants," I say as I rub her back while I pull her into another hug, looking over my shoulder and seeing Haizaki looking at me and Momoi. "Now let's get back to work, Momoi-chan," I smile as I slowly let her go.
"You know you can call me Satsuki, Sawamura-chan." She smiles as we start to get back to work.
I laugh, "Okay, Satsuki-chan. Then you can call me Y/n."
"Y/n," she gasps, "Why do you have such a pretty name and I'm just stuck with 'Satsuki'." She whines as I just laugh at her.
"You be quiet. We can agree that I have a pretty name while you are drop-dead gorgeous," I say as she turns to me with her jaw dropped and shaking her head.
"No, I refuse to believe that! One of the hottest guys at our school has a thing for you even if he's kind of an ass." She says as she flings her arm around my shoulder.
Timeskip~
It's been a few weeks, and I've been endlessly hanging out with Satsuki, which means I've also gotten to hang out with Aomine a lot. I've honestly been wondering what their relationship is, but I know they are really close friends.
Today, our class got let out early because we finished our lesson early, so I told Satsuki I would meet her at the gym before practice so I could grab my things from my locker. Making sure I grabbed everything, I slammed my locker shut.
I turn to walk away, "Oh my god?!" My heart almost stops as I drop my things. "Haizaki-kun, you scared the shit out of me," I say as I try to pick my things up, but Haizaki grabs them before I can. "What do you want?" I ask as I cross my arms. I told Satsuki I would resist him.
"Why can't I spend time with the girl I like?" he asks as I shake my head.
"Like me? Since when?" I ask, laughing incredulously.
"I have to go now. Can I have my stuff back, Haizaki?" I say, holding my hands out, hoping he'll give it back to me.
He smirks, "I don't think I will."
I roll my eyes, "Then I'm going to practice. You can follow; I really don't care." I say before walking to the gym where Satsuki is waiting for me with Haizaki following behind me. Once I reach the gym, I walk in, seeing most of the guys already there because a bunch of classes got out early. "Satsuki-chan, I got my stuff, but the bad thing is that someone stole it," I say, pointing behind me as I walk over to her.
"I didn't steal it, Chibi-chan." He says as I feel him walking closer behind me.
"Stop calling me that," I groan, rolling my eyes.
Momoi steps between us, giving Haizaki a hard look before turning to me. "Y/n , let's go over the practice schedule. Aomine, can you help her out?"
Aomine nods, giving a wary glance before leading me away. "Come on, let's get started."
As practice goes on, I can't shake the feeling of Haizkai's eyes on me. Every time I glance his way, he's watching me with that same smirk. It's unnerving, but I try to focus on my duties.
After practice, Momoi, Aomine, and I head out together, the city buzzing with the evening rush. The air is crisp, and the streetlights flicker on, casting a warm glow on the sidewalk.
"That was quite a practice," Aomine remarks, stretching his arms above his head.
"Yeah, it was intense," I agree, glancing at Momoi. "By the way, Haizaki was staring at me almost the entire practice. It was kind of creepy."
Momoi's expression turns serious, and she shares a quick look with Aomne. "What do you think he wants with you?" she asks.
Aomine frowns, looking concerned. "Maybe he's just trying to mess with me."
Momoi shakes her head. "Just be careful, Y/n. We don't know what he's up to, and we don't want you to get hurt."
Aomine's face softens, and he puts a comforting hand on my shoulder. "If he ever makes you uncomfortable or crosses a line, tell us immediately."
I nod, grateful for their concern. "Thanks, guys. I'll be careful."
Momoi smiles, trying to lighten the mood, "Hey, how about we grab some dinner? My treat this time."
Aomine grins, breaking the tension. "Sounds good to me. How about that new ramen place?"
I laugh, feeling some of the tension ease away. "Sure, that sounds good."
We head to the ramen place, the neon signs flickering in the twilight, casting a warm glow on the street. The restaurant is cozy, and the smell of delicious food immediately lifts my spirits.
As we sit down and order, Aomine and Momoi keep the conversation lively, cracking jokes and sharing funny stories from their past. I find myself relaxing, the tension from the day slowly melting away.
Momoi leans in, smiling warmly. "You know, Y/n, we're really glad you're here. You fit right in with us."
Aomine nods in agreement. "Yeah, it's like you've always been part of the team."
I smile, feeling a sense of belonging. "Thanks, guys. I'm glad to be here too."
We enjoy our meal, and for a while, I forget about Haizaki and all the worries. With friends like Momoi and Aomine, I know I can handle whatever comes my way.
