Everything has changed since that practice. I've been trying to ignore everyone, thinking it would benefit everyone if I went away for a bit. However, everyone else seems to have a different thought. They want to talk it out and see if they can fix me.
It's been a week since Shogo kissed me. Since that night, I have disappointed all my friends. I haven't talked to anyone since then, and I plan to keep it that way for a little while. Although I need to talk to Satsuki soon.
I slowly walked onto campus, not knowing what the day would be like. Walking to my locker as I normally do every single day, but today there was a note on my locker. From Shogo. My heart instantly started beating faster.
I grabbed the note off my locker and was tempted to open it. But I didn't need to fall for him even harder, so I put it in my locker and started doing what I normally do: putting my things away and grabbing what I need for my first hour.
I had Shogo in my first hour, which was going to be weird, but I've been doing it all week without a bother, so I sat in my normal spot and acted normal. I saw Shogo staring at me, probably because of the letter he left me that I didn't read.
He moved from his seat to sit right next to me, making my heart beat just like when I found the letter. I don't want to talk to him or anyone today.
"Did you read the letter?" he asked. I shook my head. "Why?"
I sighed. "Because I can't talk to you, and the letter is just going to bring on more feelings."
He frowned. "Can you just read the letter?"
"Please, just leave me alone," I said as I opened the textbook for the class to start doing the activity that was written on the board.
He groaned. "Please, I'm begging you to just read the letter."
"Shogo...please," I mumbled as I tried to ignore him. He stared me down with a glint of anger in his eyes. I didn't open the letter because it would only make me fall even more. "Fine, I'll read it later. Now please leave me alone." I gave in, seeing the anger in his eyes scared me, so I'll just have to read the letter later.
Timeskip~
After school, I decided it was time to talk to Satsuki. I found her waiting by the gates, her usual cheerful demeanor slightly subdued.
"Satsuki, can we talk?" I asked quietly.
She nodded, concern etched on her face. "Of course, Y/n-chan. Let's go somewhere private."
We headed to a nearby park, finding a secluded bench under a large tree. The afternoon sun filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows around us.
"Satsuki, I've been meaning to talk to you about everything," I began, taking a deep breath. "Especially about Haizaki."
She looked at me intently, her eyes softening. "Go on, I'm listening."
I sighed, gathering my thoughts. "I know everyone warned me about him, and I tried to stay away. But he's been so different from me. He's been sweet and caring, and he hasn't shown any of the behavior you all warned me about. It's confusing."
Satsuki frowned slightly but nodded for me to continue.
"I think... I might have feelings for him," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "And he wrote me a letter. I haven't opened it yet because I'm scared of what it might say."
Satsuki took my hand in hers, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Y/n-chan, I understand. It's hard when someone shows a different side of themselves. But you have to be careful. Haizaki has a reputation for a reason."
