I went back to the team after saying goodbye to Shogo. It was still months ago but Momoi and I were still not talking but I didn't want to talk to her. Nor did I have the patience for an 'I told you so'. I'm fine and I've already moved on from him. Kise wants to talk about it but I just can't talk about it. That's the process of moving on from someone. Or at least I hope it is.
I walk into the gym seeing everyone else there. They were already practicing so I walked in and set my things down and got straight to business. I grab some of the guys' water bottles and hurry to go fill them but sure enough, Momoi was following me.
"Y/n, please wait!" She called because I so badly wanted to turn around but I just kept filling their water bottles. "Y/n please." She said one more time.
I turn and give her a soft look, "Yes Momoi?" I say quietly.
She grinned for a moment before walking up to hug me tightly though making me drop the water bottles I was holding. We both looked down before looking back up and just burst out laughing. It's been a while since I've felt this good but most of all I'm glad to have my best friend back.
"I'm sorry Momoi I should have listened to you," I say once we both stopped laughing and her smile quickly fell. She looked to the ground.
Before clenching her fist, "No, it's not your fault," she paused for a moment before looking back up to me, "None of this would have happened if it weren't for me driving you away."
I shook my head, "No, it's not he probably would have done it anyway."
I moved around the water puddle and wrapped my arms around her. She was my best friend. Why didn't I trust her? Trust.
