A Kiss for Goodbye

We were now walking down the street, me in casual clothing and him in ninja gear (though I was ready to spring into action at any time). I was lost in thought and didn’t notice someone standing in front of me and slammed into them, falling back to only be caught by a surprised Kakashi. “Not very ninja-like…nor graceful…huh?” I asked. He chuckled and helped me to stand.

Sasuke was gone, and my brain hand long since processed it. I was sad that, no matter what I said, he didn’t stay. Though, on the path he is going on now, he will find out the truth. Kami, why can’t you just let the idiot Uchiha brothers sit down and have a heart to heart…tied to chairs or something? Ii got no reply and sighed.

We walked in to a BBQ shop, which made me think of Choji and Shikamaru. This is just not my day. Why do I have to feel guilty, huh? We were sitting in a slightly awkward silence when Hijuya suddenly materialized next to me, causing us to blink at her.

“First, your mind is really depressing right now. And, secondly, how is everyone?”

“Fine, as far as I know. One thing I can feel is that no one is dead,” I told her.

“Hmm. Since the both of you are here,” she started, looking serious. “I need to tell you something.”

We glanced at each other. “Kaname, my husband, is getting stronger, being looked in solitude and not using chakra. Since Hitsuki has gotten to the leaf, her training has gone at a snail’s pace. She needs to be stronger so that he can’t get out. Hitsuki, you need to go train. And, I think the best place to train is to go….home,” she said, letting the sentence hang as I realized what she said. It seemed to click for Kakashi, too.

“As much as I would hate to leave, the only way to keep him at bay is to get stronger than him. Right now, his strength is two-thirds of Hijuya’s. Mine is about half of Kaname’s. Hijuya is right. Besides, team seven is disbanding quickly. First Sasuke, then, and I have no doubt in my mind, Naruto will go with Jiraiya who is keeping tabs on the Akatsuki. Sakura will probably come to terms with the fact that she is weak and train under Tsunade. Team Seven is going to be trained by the three legendary sennin.”

“I have absolutely no doubt that all three of them will train them to the fullest. Hitsuki, you are starting to realize it too, right?”

“Realize what?” Kakashi asked. I looked at him and I wanted to die at the words that I had to speak right now. Hijuya went through this too. If it wasn’t for her love for Kaname, she would easily be able to defeat all three sennin. Love is a powerful thing, and a weakness. And, I just realized that I love Kakashi and he could be used against me.

“I hate this,” I muttered to Hijuya who only twitched a finger in response. I looked Kakashi dead in the…eye… and spoke. “Kakashi, I am leaving to go train, and once I set foot out of this village, I must leave it all behind until I can come back without risking the people I care about safety…including you,” I whispered. He seemed to process what I was saying and he made no movements what-so-ever. Hijuya sighed.

“Kakashi, she isn’t just dropping you, you just have to wait…if you believe she is worth it,” she said, dissolving into my mind once again. I got up just then and walked out of the restaurant, jumping across rooftops to get away from the possibility that he might say ‘how are you worth the wait?’ Just the slight chance of that happening made me want to cry. And, I hate crying. I was at the tree line to a training field when a hand grabbed my wrist and slammed me into a tree. A mouth was urgently on mine and I felt the feeling that only Kakashi could bring.

I melted into the kiss, the rough tree bark biting into my back. I learned that being slammed into a damn tree hurt a bit, but not as bad as being kicked into one. His hand was into my long hair that was flowing freely. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling at his hair and earning a moan from him as he kept me firmly against his hungry lips….not that I would pull away or anything. After about five minutes of no air, we broke away, sucking it in.
