"So, why did you agree to take me in?" I asked as he eyed me out of the corner of his eyes. He kept looking at me for awhile, until he sighed and answered.
"The Hokage sent an ANBU member to find a place for a female ninja to live. The member asked me after asking around the citizens homes. I have a spare room, so I said yes. What's your name?" he asked.
"Hitsuki Torasu. Just call me Hitsuki, even though I have a feeling you were planning on it. Can I just call you Kakashi?" I asked. He nodded after a second, and then reverted back to his thoughts.
"Can you make a clone?" he asked after a very long moment of silence. I looked over at him surprised.
"Um, yes, I can. But, it is a Kinjutsu. Shadow Divided Art. I do not know where I learned it, I just know I learned it when I was....three I think?" I said. He had been surprised for a second, but then reverted to his thoughts again. I started humming, and ended up walking past his house.
"Hitsuki, we're here."
"Oh, oops, sorry. Thank you for letting me stay here with you," I said as I followed him into a kitchen area. "I would tell you why I am here, which the Hokage knows, but you probably don't trust me enough to believe me if I told you."
He looked at me for a second before walking up the stairs with me at his heels. He stopped at a door directly to the right of the stairs. "This is your room. The bathroom is across the hall, and I am next door. The other door is simply a hall closet. Now, go get some rest. You have to deal with kids who are a lot younger then you tomorrow, you're gonna need it." With that he headed back downstairs and I went into my room. It had simple wooden walls. There was a bed and a desk next to that. There was a window above the bed. That was it, along with a dresser. The sheets were black, as were the two pillows on the full sized bed. There was one bright orange pillow. Funny, he didn't even know I was coming. I pulled out a pair of pajamas, which was really just an oversized shirt. Taking my ponytail down, I crawled into bed. I Slowly, I drifted to sleep.
My sleep was not a peaceful one, it never was; I was chased by memories that I didn't know were mine. Death, blood and screams made me wake with a jolt, tears streaming down my face. I ran my hands through my hair, choking back the sob that was trying to escape me. I wiped away the tears and got up, heading to the bathroom across the hall. I opened it and walked over to the sink turning on the faucet and splashing water on my face. The tears had stopped. I turned the faucet off and grabbed a towel on the sink, and patted my face dry.
Walking out of the bathroom, I looked at Kakashi's door. Well, I was glad I was quiet and all. I walked back to my room, and laid back down. I was worried that I would dream of awful things past, but I had a dreamless slumber after that.
Morning came, and I got up and started to get dressed. My shoes were next to my door, and I was brushing my hair. I was going to leave it down today it all its black and orange glory. My silky hair had no tangles in it, and I walked over and pulled my shoes on. Kakashi knocked on my door, and I opened it, looking at him expectantly. He paused for a second before shaking himself.
"Hitsuki, we need to leave so that you aren't any later then you already are."
"I'm late? Well great. Make a deal with the Hokage, and you're late for your first day. We are now going to rush, and you are going to take me there. You and your lazy ass schedule better hurry the hell up, because I do not wa-. You know what just forget it, just walk and I will follow. I am looking forward to some normalcy though," I finished with an aggravated sigh. Kakashi chuckled and grabbed my hand, jumping to a rooftop.
"You want a rush, fine. But, don't expect it too often." I smiled and we raced to the academy. I followed him into one of the classrooms after we got there, and everyone was staring at me as Kakashi talked to the sensei. The sensei nodded. "Meet me outside after class lets out."
