I walked down the stairs after hearing my mom call my name. They both stood by the door when I came down, suitcases in their hands. I wrapped my arms around my waist, feeling the cold air drift into the house from the open front door. When they noticed my presence they smiled and pulled me into a hug.

"Are you sure you feel better, because if you don't your father can go by himself." My mom caressed my cheek with the outside of her hand and I gave her a reassuring smile.

"Mom, I'm fine, I'm not sick anymore."

"But-"

"Just gooo." I chuckled, pushing them out.

My mom gave me a last kiss on the cheek before entering the vehicle.

"Goodbye, sweetie." My dad did the same." And don't wreck the house."

"I'll try."

I waved them goodbye as they drove out the gates and turned around to walk inside again. I sighed as I closed the door and when I turned around Charlie sat on the stairs.

"It's just you and me now Charlie."

My parents were going on a business trip to Los Angeles for two weeks, and luckily I could stay home by myself. I often was though, as they worked a lot. Which means I was used to it. I walked to the kitchen with Charlie following me right behind and decided to call Emily. She was finally home from Greece, which meant that she had to help me get James off my mind. I still missed him, and every day I regretted my decision of leaving even more.

I leaned on the counter while waiting for her to pick up.

"Hiiii, what's up?"

"You wanna come with me to the mall?"

She huffed.

"Of course I do, I'm on my way."

I walked to my room and tried to choose an outfit. Why was it always so hard? Right when I heard the door open downstairs and Emily yelling for me to hurry, I had been able to choose a white short dress. It was comfortable but pretty. I just hoped I wouldn't get too cold, as it was sleeveless. It was still summer, but I still thought it was too cold sometimes.

With my bag on my shoulder, I hurried downstairs, where Emily stood, ushering me out.

"What's the rush?" I laughed as we took a seat in her car.

She started the car and drove off.

"There's a sale on victoria's secret, we have to hurry before all the goodies are gone."

Her serious tone made me laugh even more.

The first store we went to was obviously victoria's secret. And she was right, there was a sale which meant a lot of people.

"I'm just going to wait out here," I said, furrowing my eyebrows as I watched the mass of girls fighting to get their hands on a pair of underwear.

"Nooo, come on, I have to get your opinion on things." She tried to pull me in by my arms but I managed to hold back.

"You look good in everything, I just don't want to get squished by stressed girls."

"Ugh, fine."

I chuckled as I watched her disappear into the mass of people. I waited for fifteen minutes and started to get impatient. When I turned around I saw a coffee shop that sold sodas, and I was in desperate need of a coke right now.
