There is currently two days until Christmas.
Noah and I are at the mall shopping for Christmas gifts. I know tomorrow is already Christmas Eve and I haven't gotten anyone anything. Honestly I hate gift shopping, I never know what to get anyone. It's like everything I learned about someone completely leaves my mind when I need to buy them gifts.
This year however I am two people down.
Matt and Delilah.
Ever since our fall out she hasn't uttered a word to me let alone look in my direction. Whenever I see Matt I consider punching him in the face. I don't know I just don't trust him anymore, especially since him and Delilah got together. I just hope she's actually happy.
Speaking of happy, Noah and I are back on cloud 9. Dad found out yesterday. Well he claims he's 'always known', but still he brought it up to me yesterday. I know he approves, but the points he made especially about Brady keep playing in my mind.
"Hey you ok? You seem quiet." I turn my head to see Noah looking down at me his eyebrows pinched together.
We walk into this little trinket shop.
"Yeah, just thinking." I say vaguely and Noah doesn't let it go. "Bails." he warns and I sigh.
Picking up a little gnome I turn to him, "I just miss Delilah, this used to be our holiday. We would Christmas shop together, make cookies, watch Christmas movies." he gives me a sad smile squeezing my hand that is interlaced with his.
"I'm sorry you're sad baby. I know what Delilah meant to you." I smile up at him, but the smile doesn't show my teeth.
We continue through the trinket store, Noah get's a little Elephant ring holder for his mom. Once out of the trinket store we walk across the way to a sports store. I get Brady some signed jersey from his favorite team.
I didn't know it was his favorite team until Noah subtly nudged me to it. I think he realized how bad of a gift giver I was. After that Noah and I separated to get each others gifts. He seemed so confident walking off, and I was left standing there not knowing what to get him.
Deciding to head up stairs in the mall I look through some of those stores. Finally I see one that spots my eye. It's a little jewelry shop.
I walk in and the man at the counter greets me. I begin to look through their different rings. One thing about Noah is he loves rings. Sometimes he wears mine, on his pinky finger, but still he wears them.
Looking through the second row I spot one that makes me gasp. Its a silver band with jade filled inside all the way around.
"Did that one catch your eye?" the clerk asks. I look up at him, "Yeah how much is it?"
He tells me the price and then tells me that they have an offer going on he brings out a similar ring but thinner. Turns out it's a couples ring, you buy one get one half off. He also told me he could engrave both rings with something today for me if I wanted.
I think about it for a moment before agreeing.
"Great what would you like on the inside of the band?" I take another moment to think about it. The words would be super small and I want this done as soon as possible, maybe just one letter.
I finally decide on what I want it to say and tell the guy. He takes both rings in back and says it shouldn't take long since he's only doing one letter on each.
I begin to look around the store, waiting for the rings. I get a text from Noah letting me know he's ready and would meet me in the food court. I give him a quick ok text as I see the guy coming out with two boxes.
