The return of the Marauders

Chapter 11

~Lily~

I've never looked so good. I just hope James likes it. I wonder what we're going to do?

I see James right as I'm off the steps. His eyes light up, a wide grin on his face. He stares at me for a few seconds then shakes his head coming back to reality.

"You, you are stunning. I mean you look stunning everyday, you're just, magnificent today. Darling, how can you be so, extraordinarily beautiful?"

Butterflies swarm my stomach. Why has it taken me this long to see James? He's so kind and charming.

I blush looking at the ground. He places his thumb under my chin and lifts it. I stare at his swirling chocolate hazel eyes.

"You really are beautiful, darling." He whispers, still looking into my eyes.
I grin and say,
"Come on."

I lean my head on his shoulder and take his hand as we leave the empty common room.

"So where are we headed?" I ask.
"You'll see, it's a surprise!"

We walk for what seems like ages.

A few minutes later we're outside Hogsmead.
"Ok now put this on." He hands me a blindfold.

"Don't try anything funny, Potter."
"Oh, you don't trust me Evans?"
"Haven't decided yet." We both laugh.

"Well just trust me for now."
I put on the blindfold. He takes my hand and guides me through the crowd. I can hear people talking as we walk by. I try not to trip on my own feet, or on someone else.

~James~

I don't let anyone touch Lily as we pass by people. I lead her hand carful as I can be. I push a few people out of the way for Lily to walk smoothly.

Everything has to be perfect for Lily!
I've been waiting  for this moment for six years and if anyone screws it up I'll kill them.

We're finally here. I gently put my hands on her shoulders to stop her.

~Lily~

We suddenly stop.
"Are you ready?" James asks me.
I nod my head. I grab the blindfold and push it up over my eyes.

"Oh, James!" My hands fly over my mouth. I'm astonished. James took me on top of a hill over looking Hogsmead to one side and Hogwarts the other.

The sun high in the sky, overlooking Hogwarts to the South and Hogsmead to the North. A picnic blanket in the middle. Two butter-beers', and some cheese and crackers are on the blanket.

"This is the sweetest thing anyone has done for me." I'm breathless. Everything is so pretty. And he did this just for me.

He rubs the back of his neck.
"I just wanted everything to perfect for you." He grins.
"Oh, it is, everything is perfect. You didn't have to do all this for me, James."

"Rubbish! You're perfect and this had to be perfect too."
I sit down on the plaid blanket with James.

"You're so pretty." He mutters. "Whenever I think you can't get more beautiful...you prove me wrong every time."

We talk for a few more minutes and I lay down, looking at the clouds.
James leans back too.
"Hah, that one looks like Moony!"

I laugh, it's does kinda look like a werewolf.
"If you squint," I say. "Maybe I need your glasses." I quickly grab James glasses off his face.
"Oi."

I sit up looking at the clouds with his glasses on. I laugh looking at his stunned face.
"Oi, give those back. Even though you are rather cute in them, I can't see."

Before I know anything I'm laying back down. James on top of me. He pause's realizing what he did. Our faces are inches away. I'm staring at his eyes. I smile and kiss him. He stops stunned.

I giggle at his shocked face.
"Ok, Lily flower."
I grin at the stupid nickname. He cups his hands over my face. I close my eyes feeling the warmth in his hands.

His hands are in my hair and his hands trickle behind my ear. He holds the metal of his glasses and takes them off my face. He's sprinting away in the grass with his glasses.

I stand up as quickly as I can and run after him.
"You're never going to get them Evans!"
"Oh well just see about that!"
James stops a ways away, waiting for me to catch up to him.

He dangles the glasses taunting me. I run over and pounce to try and take the glasses from him. He moves his hand too quick and I miss.
"Oh come on! You can do better than that!"

He runs a little farther and I case after him again. I run too fast and almost ran into him, but he caught me just in time. His hands around my waist stopping my fall.

He puts his glasses on and twirls me around. The winds in my face, and James hands around me. He sets me down and I seize the moment and steal back his glasses.

This time he doesn't stop me. He kisses me.
"How, the bloody hell are you so brilliant ?" He laughs.

He picks me up again, this time sweeping me off my feet. As he carries me back to the picnic I put his glasses back on him.

We're back at the picnic and he puts me down.
"Would you like some cheese, my love?"
"Sure."
He lays a block of cheese on a cracker and feeds it to me.

"You know I can feed myself." I say after swallowing my food.
"I know, but I just like helping you."
"Helping me eat?" I laugh.
He just shrugs and laughs himself.

I scoot over next to James and lay my head on his shoulder.
"James?" He hums.
"Thank you." I say yawning.
"Of course darling." He whispers and kisses my head.

I fall asleep on him and we stay like that for what feels like hours.

I'm woken up by a bark.

I blink, looking at what woke me up. James wakes up too, he's confused for a minute, then furious another. His eyes nearly spring out from behind his glasses.

"Stupid mutt." James growls.
"Hey! Be nice to the poor puppy. Come here baby." I walk towards it and it immediately lets me pet it.

"It could have rabies." James mutters.
The dog barks at him.
"Don't be mean to the little doggy." My face gets all slobbery with its spit. Mary's probably going to be mad if it messed my makeup up, but I don't care. It's just so cute.

"We should head back. It's probably dinner."
"Yeah." James reply's.
I pick the dog up and cradle it.
"He's going to walk back with us." I state.
"Uh-." James quickly closes his mouth as soon as he opens it, knowing I was going to get my way in the end.

I know this was a long chapter, but I hope you guys liked, Jily's first date. And Sirius at the end 💀. This is probably one of my fav chapters so I hope u liked it 😊.
