We winded through the cab filled city streets that thinned out to curving roads lined with plenty of trees. We sang aloud to the blasting music as we rounded each turn a little too quickly so that I was sliding in my seat. Pietro turned down the volume as we approached a branch from the road, elegant iron fence gates opened as his car pulled up. A large building, the size of a lodge, branded with the Avengers logo stood surrounded by acres of green grass land. We pulled up to the towering front doors, I sat frozen in awe in my seat until Pietro rounded the car and opened the door. We stepped into what looked like a business floor, full of conference rooms and offices scattered with the occasional worker. We walked over to the shining elevator and Pietro pressed for the second floor. The smooth doors slid open to reveal a large room similar to the other training room with a track running around a large boxing ring for training sat in the center of the room. Lining the walls were glass rooms each containing their own equipment for a specific purpose such as a shooting range, high tech gym equipment for solo training, rooms with obstacles and dummies, and so much more. Some rooms were blurred with figures moving through them, indicating they were being used by someone. Nat was already in the shooting range, with no filter on her windows, displaying her sharp shooting. As Pietro led me to the locker room I saw Steve in a room with punching bags, slamming one off the hook and sending beans flying out of the bag. Even the locker room was high-tech with large fingerprint opening lockers, each one labeled with the Avengers superhero names. Old suits lined the back wall, lit up for display.
"You can use my locker if you want." Pietro pressed his thumb to the little pad, popping the door open. A small picture of a family hung by a magnet from the inside of the door along with a picture of him and Wanda. I bet that's his family.
"Thank you." I set my bag down on the bench behind me, looking around for the changing rooms. They're that way, Elle. Pietro pointed his head to the side where large black doors spaced out along the wall. I grabbed my workout gear and headed into one of the large stalls with a glowing mirror.
"Hello, my name is Friday." A voice boomed out from the walls. I looked around for the source, unsuccessful.
"Hi?" I began to pull my jacket off, unsure if I was being watched.
"Captain Rogers and Agent Natasha would like for you to meet them on the track when you are changed Agent Quinn." I nodded and changed into a white sports bra and my pair of dark orangey-pink leggings, tying on my white sneakers with it. I looked in the mirror, noticing that in this outfit you could see a peek of the tattoo on my ankle. I walked out of the stall and shoved my clothes into my backpack, placing it in Pietro's locker once I was done. He walked out of his own stall in a tight blue long sleeve and white sweatpants that had a stripe of blue running down the side. Is that a matching set? I questioned the ensemble to myself as I walked out to meet Steve and Nat on the track.
"Agent Quinn, nice to see you again." Steve's voice boomed throughout the room, commanding the attention of anyone who heard it.
"Hey guys." I smiled at them, taking in the tension strung between them.
"How have you guys been holding up?" Nat asked in a sympathetic tone, "We know that Speedy can be a lot to deal with."
"It's actually been pretty nice." I said as Pietro appeared behind me, "Besides it's always good to build trust before a mission with a new team member."
"I agree completely. Speaking of, you're welcome to join us for lunch after this." Steve added as he turned to lead us to one of the glass rooms. "Elle if you have any training tips for us, please feel free to share."
"Actually, Pietro figured out a little trick." I took in the room, padded floors and walls but seemingly empty.
"He did?" Nat looked at me, shocked that Pietro was smart enough to think of anything, let alone a trick.
