the rain.

all i can hear is the rain's movement and my lover's soft breathes.

i hear the sound of rain rapidly patterning my window. the small droplets creating a
calm and peaceful atmosphere.

i slowly open my eyes. a dim moonlight transmits and escapes the blinds, my silver eyes absorbing the
dim light.

i squint and quietly groan.

i shift in the sheets and reach for my phone. i turn on my phone and squint a second time because of the brightness.

the time reads 3:02am, i silently groan.

'ughh...it's too early.'

i place my phone on the window sill and lay back
on the bed.

suddenly i feel arms wrap around my torso, and pull
me into a warm embrace.

"did the rain wake you up ryuu..?" he mumbles.

' jinko.'

i shift in his arms and turn around to face him, his beautiful sunset eyes rarely open but somehow still glimmering from the moonlight.

i blush at the handsome sight. "mhmm..", i rest my face in his chest.

i feel his fingers gently tracing my spine. i sigh contently.

we stay in this position for what feels to be hours but
in reality, likely to be a few minutes.

he removes his fingers from my spine and starts
playing with my hair.

"are you still sleepy or are you no longer tired..?" he whispers.

i yawn a response.

he understands and pulls me closer to his body. his warmth engulfing my once pale and cold one.

i feel his lips softly kiss the top of my head and form a smile. i quietly giggle and nuzzle my face deep into his chest.

now the rain was almost silent, similar to a whispered lullaby.

i sink into the soft sheets and etch this perfect moment into my mind.

no missions. no violence. no arguing. no dazai.
no work. no killing. no ada. no port mafia. just me, the rain, and my jinko. my love.

'my jinko...'

soon my sleepiness became stronger. i begin to lose consciousness, my eyes fluttering open and close. i attempt to fight the urge to sleep but fail.

before i lose consciousness i hear jinko whisper:

"i love you..ryuu."

"i love you too.."

me and jinko fall back asleep in each other's arms to the background music of the rain dancing on the window.
