It was agnozing to be honest...
Gary could tell something was clearly wrong with his new friend but the urge to pick up the camera and start vlogging to update and show the 0 viewers that he made a friend!

Glancing besides him, Gary fidgeted with the loose strings on his jeans. Avocato was sat next to him, clearly tired, watching a movie.

Gary had tried to find something chill for them to do in order not to tire the other and he came to the solution of a movie- however, no matter how much Gary asked what the other wanted to watch, Avocato only replied "whatever you want"

This was a tragedy!

Gary had no idea what Avocato likes! What if he thinks his taste in movies (which is really just a mix of space, classics and children's movies) is lame?!

The blond had settled on some western, action movie because Avocato seemed the type of guy that'd enjoy that since...he had the cool cowboy hat and everything.

It wasn't long in the movie that Avocato had began to doze off. His head bobbing around as he tried to remain awake, his snacks untouched as he "already ate breakfast" (how can you not eat while watching a movie?), arms crossed as his ears lowered.
At that moment Gary was sure that Avocato was certainly a dad because right now he was doing the classic "dad is falling asleep in the sofa and his own snores scared him awake" thing that his own dad used to do.

Sinking in his couch, Gary sighed as he watched the movie play without interest. He wanted to ask what was wrong and talk things out with Avocato to try help him feel a little better but they weren't close and Avocato seemed as though he had no intention of becoming close.

When snores were heard, Gary turned once again to watch the other that was now completely passed out on the couch. Still, Gary sat there, watching the movie for a moment longer

"You're missing the whole thing" Gary sighed "the main character is about to save his horse, you know?" He continued.

Deciding to sit and watch the movie to at least make sure the main character's horse was alright, Gary remained sat down, his hand reaching over to the snacks in boredom.
It was comforting though, having someone besides him. Gary found the sounds of Avocato quietly snoring quite nice to listen to- it brought him a sense of normality and abnormality...as if the chaos wasn't happening outside and that Gary actually had things such as friends and family.

Noticing that the horse in the movie was truly dead and wasn't making a comeback like the zombies, Gary sniffled and wiped his tears away as he stood

"What the heck man" he mumbled inbetween tears "the horse did nothing wrong- he was my favourite" he sniffed, turning to Avocato.
He wanted to at least pretend the other was awake to listen and talk about the movie but he wasn't...he was asleep and tired.

Leaning down, Gary carefully picked up his new friend, huffing at the weight

"Heavy" he muttered mainly to himself as he shuffled his way around the house.

It was surprising how Avocato remained asleep despite Gary stubbing his toe on his way up the stairs, nearly falling to his death. He must have been really sleep deprived.

Softly, Gary placed Avocato in his bed and tucked him in with a small sigh. He looked peaceful and that made Gary happy, it was nice to know that Gary was somehow helping someone- it made him feel a little better about himself...like he wasnt completely useless and living for nothing.

Turning off the lights, Gary tip toed his way out the room, closing the door behind him gently before he entered his own room.
He flopped on his bed and took a look around with a small pout. His room was tidy, the messy dirty clothes pile had been put in the wash, the random stuffed toys hidden somewhere except for his favourite body pillow caterpillar, his desk clean... and for what?

It wasn't Avocato's fault, Gary knew that...yet he couldn't help feel a pang of disappointment at the fact that the only person he met since the apocalypse started he can't hang out with which overall...made him feel guilty.

Avocato was going through a hard time, that much was obvious....yet Gary was here feeling like this- Avocato wasn't forced to have a stupid conversation with Gary...Gary was lucky that Avocato was nice in the least and not some rude cannibal like in the movies.

Gary turned to his best friend yet, the camera. He turned it on and began the tape only to stare at it with a small frown.
His mind was a mess, so many emotions swirling inside of him...

"Hi" he said weakly to the camera before sighing. He closed his eyes and inhaled before he made his way to the desk and placed the camera properly on a surface so he wouldn't have to hold it

"Hi!" He tried again "so...a lot has happened...." he smiled at the camera as he fidgeted with a pen.

Gary then began to talk about what had happened, how he went from an ordinary day of karaoke to finding a cowboy guy- who he didn't mention was a cat man since he didn't ask Avocato for permission yet.
He talked about how he couldn't give the camera Avocato's name yet, hoping that someday the ventraxian would be introducing himself to the camera instead.
He rambled on about his feeling, the disappointment ans guilt he felt, the hopelessness that punched his heart to see his new friend suffering, the hurt when Avocato told him that he wasnt here to stay and that Gary would practically go back to being

"Alone..." he sighed, his enthusiasm leaving quickly as he sank into his chair.

"It's weird, you know?" Gary said after a moment of silence, whiteboard pen spinning in his hand as he glanced back at the stuck figures drawn on the board behind him to explain the "epic new friend rescue" that happened.

"Part of me- like a very tiny small part of me" Gary turned back to the camera to rest on the desk "kinda wishes he never came here in the first place....kind of gave me false hopes you know?" He hugged his knees close with a frown "but I am happy I met him though" he smiled softly "even if we barely got to do anything"

Silence stretched out before Gary suddenly stood up with new found determination
"Yeah! If he is here it means someone eventually will come too! Soon enough I won't be alone!" He nodded to himself "I'll make this mansion an inn! Like in the video games! Anyone should be able to stop by and restore their health here! Like that I'll practically have lots of friends!"

Spinning around Gary wiped the board away ans began to doodle once again, drawing a house with "Inn" on top of it in big bold letters

"I'll think of a name for the inn" he grinned as he pointed back at the camera "so if anyone sees this you better come visit!"

Ofcourse, all his videos had no views, he didn't think anyone who managed to get some kind of network would be using it to watch his dumb videos but even so it was nice to dream...thats how he managed so far anyway.
With new hope, Gary began to edit the video. He would help Avocato as much as possible because that's what friends do- then he'd think about the Inn idea.

"Hm?" A voice rang in the empty hallways of the abandoned school, there were groans from zombies that were stuck within the building but the kid had managed to find a quiet room for himself "oh! A new upload! Better download this one too for the road"
