Jughead's POV
It's been 2 weeks in this arena. Betty and I already lost Cheryl and Reggie, and there's Maddog, Ethel, Veronica and Archie left in the games. The game makers made the announcement that 2 victors may be crowned if they hail from the same district and there will be a feast at dawn. Betty and I love each-other more than the fake romance between Veronica and Archie. We were instructed by out mentors to keep our engagement secret because careers don't show emotion. We gave up that policy a day ago when we were kissing after the 2 victors announcements for betts pulled out her ring. She is a knife thrower and I deal with swords.
B"the feast is tomorrow"
J"I know, let me go get the bag."
B"no, Veronica will be there and I want to be the one who finishes her off, besides I need you to watch out for maddog"
J"fine, I won't be far so yell if you need me, we move out at dawn. I love you
B"I love you too
She falls asleep while I'm on watch.
At sunrise we eat some berries and fill out our water bottles. She heads for the cornucopia while I watch for maddog and Ethel. I see a blur of red hair and follow it, if only I knew I would regret that
Bettys POV
I see Ethel runway with her bag then see Veronica. I throw my knife and cut her forehead. We fight on the ground when I have her pinned. B" you really thought you would beat me. Your nothing. What's in the bag, supplies for redhead boy huh. Well we're guna kill him. Like we killed your little friend. What was her name Polly. Well I promised juggie that if I killed you I would give the audience a good show."
As those words leave my mouth I feel someone big grab my knife and throw me to the ground and pin me. Maddog.
M"what did you say, you killed her
B"no-no -I
M" yes you did I herd you say it
I see the large rock in his hand and begin to fear
B"JUGHEAD JUGHEAD
j"BETTS" I here but he's to far, Maddog bring the rock to my head and I feel pain. He does this twice until I'm barley breathing. He stops
I see him run away and feel a soft hand grab me and pull me to him. Jughead. I look into his eyes and se a river of tears
J"no no, you can't leave me, our wedding, our house, our kids, Betty please stay with me"
I use my last strength to feel his face and I smile at him, then I follow the light

Her cannon sounded. I knew I should have stayed closer, but she couldn't be saved.
