Chapter Three

Three of us are taken to the training area, while the other two are taken to the cells. To my relief, Roshni is with me. She chatters on about life in Hell, and about all the times she'd outwitted the guards when they went around recruiting people. Unfortunately, the guards don't like this topic of conversation, and Roshni gets slapped for it. The other girl who was with us is tanned, medium height and has shoulder-length, light brown hair. She's very quiet, but I suppose that I am too, so I can hardly blame her.

Soon we stop outside a doorway. One of the guards peers in.

'Hey Melanie, I got you three new students to take care of.'

'Thank you, Greg, will you send them in?' Greg shoves us into the room and we see a kind-faced woman, probably Melanie, standing at the opposite end of the room to us. In front of her are about ten teenagers of around our ages. Oh god, school! Damn! And I had hoped that Hell would get me out of anything to do with education.

'Please, have a seat.' Melanie told us kindly as the guards left. Then she turns back to the class.'Now as I was saying, our brave leader will be coming in to deliver an inspirational speech at some point. He will be-' she is cut short by the entrance of a large, rough-looking man. He is tall and broad-shouldered, with a savage glint in his hazel eyes that inspired respect and fear in everyone who looked at him. He strides boldly up to the front of the room and starts to deliver his speech.

'Right, listen up kids, you probably don't know much about the war that's going on,('what war?' I think.) so I'm gonna fill you in. First thing you need to know is my name, which is Robert. I am the leader of our group, and it is therefore my duty to lead us to victory against the rival group led by Athena. They are planning to kill us as we speak, and we must rid Hell of their murdering ways. our groups have been at war for twenty three years, and Athena, their latest leader, is the worst of them all. They have managed to make a camp over a set of natural caves, and use this as their prison block. needless to say, it is overflowing, and conditions are harsh and filthy. We must kill our enemy and achieve victory! No mercy, no surrender. this is the motto we must live by until we win, or we will get slaughtered by Athena's group.' he finally finishes gravely. After a moments pause, the 'class' starts cheering, after a subtle prompt from Melanie. I consider this brutal man at the front of the cave, and remember his cruel guards, and sour-faced followers. Clearly this was not the best place in Hell, despite his assurances. I turn to Roshni,'We've got to get out of here.'
