He looks about seventeen, and is tall with black hair. He slams the door shut and turns around. Then he sees us.
'Ahh! Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my cave?'
'It's my cave too, Cole,' Roshni leans around me and looks at him, 'And who were you running from?'
'The patrols. They were coming towards me, so I hid here.' He looks calmer now, 'anyway, who are these people?' After we explain who we are and why we are here, he looks at us thoughtfully.
'I haven't been doing too well out here by myself, so I might as well join you and get out of this wild no-man's land. We'll just wait a while until the search dies down, then leave, ok?' We all agree with this, so we settle down to wait.
Five or so hours later, we all creep out of the secret cave. We sneak along quietly, ready to run at the slightest sign of a patrol. We follow Cole and Roshni deep into the twisted mess of tunnels until I am totally lost. Suddenly Cole stops.
'Can you hear that?' He asks urgently. I can't hear anything unusual for a moment, and then,
'Oh crap, they're coming!' I blurt. Lila hisses at me to shut up. Roshni motions for us to follow her and starts running down a narrow path. We are halfway between intersections when we hear people coming from the other direction too. We're trapped.
