After hearing a bunch of grunts and yelling from the bathroom, Natalie decided she should probably go see what the problem was. She was a little bit weary seeing as it was coming from the bathroom, but she knocked on the door.
"Ugh," she heard Bailey say from inside. She squeaked the door open and saw Bailey with her straightener on her hair, but a rat's nest for locks.
"Whoa," she said, unsure of what else to say. "Bailey, have you, uh-?"
"I've straightened it like four times!!" Bailey yelled.
Natalie hesitated. "Why is it-"
"Don't even say it." Bailey sighed and dropped her straightener on the counter. "I just need to go to the salon or something."
"Yeah, you could probably leave sometime later."
"I'm going as soon as possible, whenever it opens."
"What time does it usually open?" Natalie asked.
Bailey thought for a second, then said, "I know they open earlier on Saturdays at like 9 in the morning or something."
"Any idea when they do on Mondays?"
"I'll check their website." Bailey grabbed her phone and tapped some letters into it. After a couple seconds of browsing, she said, "What..? They don't open until 3 PM on Mondays?!"
"Well, that's no good," Natalie commented.
"Yeah, no duh!"
Natalie's eyes wondered around the room a bit before she said, "What are you going to do until they open up?"
Bailey shrugged. "I dunno, my makeup?"
"As long as that doesn't go poorly, I guess that's a good idea."
Bailey scoffed. "Oh please," she said, "I'm a master at makeup."
Turns out she was not a master at makeup. About ten minutes later, she came barging into the bedroom where Natalie had been drawing and said, "Natalie I friggen hate my life."
Natalie looked up and asked, "Why, what happened now?"
"My.." Bailey's voice cracked. "My lipstick broke."
"What?"
She held out the lipstick that looked like someone yanked the stick out of the tube. "My lipstick.. It snapped and broke and.. broke."
Natalie sat up and took the stick. She said, "Wh- how does lipstick break?"
"Natalie, you idiot I just told you it snapped and then it breaked!!"
"Okay, geez."
Bailey sighed. "Listen, I'm having a bad day, alright?"
"I noticed," Natalie said carelessly.
Bailey got a text and pulled her phone out of her pocket. "Ooh, I wonder who that is," she said, swiping on her phone while Natalie handed the lipstick back. "Aw, ew it's Jessica."
"What's so wrong with Jessica?" Natalie asked.
"She needs help. Remember when I gave her that makeup tutorial?"
"No."
Bailey rolled her eyes. "Well, I did," she said. "And it turned out to look like this." She swiped a bit on her phone then showed Natalie a photo of Jessica wearing way too much makeup and nothing was blended.
"Oh, ew," Natalie said as Bailey took the phone back.
"Yeah, and now she's telling all her friends that I was the one who told her to do it like that. Now she's making me feel ugly."
