Exams are finally over, and my school year is about to end. You know what that means. More fanfiction from yours truly! I'm sorry for the wait on this one, and I'm really glad that you guys have been patient with me. Seriously, thank you so much for the positive feedback, it means a lot and really motivates me to keep this going. With that said, we're finally in double-digit chapters. Here's chapter 10 of Fate/Burning Will!
--------------------------------------
Another dream had befallen Natsu Dragneel.
In his dream was a girl, no more than 15 years old, with beautiful blond hair. She faced what appeared to be a sword stuck in a stone. One step. Another step. Slowly, the girl approached the embedded blade before grabbing it by the hilt. Her expression was one of someone determined to make a life-changing choice. Then, in one fell swoop, she removed the blade from the stone.
That moment was, in Natsu's case, literally an eye-opener. After all, it woke him up.
Strangely enough, no alarm had gone off. When he turned one way, he saw that Saber had left the room. When he turned the other way, he saw that his clock showed a time that was a few hours past the beginning of the school day. Lastly, when he looked down, he saw that his shirt was off and only his school pants were on. There were also numerous bandages on his torso.
Wait a minute. He was late, a few hours late to be more precise.
"I was wondering when you'd wake up."
That voice was way too familiar to not be recognized. It was Rin. But, what was she doing here? Wasn't it a school day? Then, why would she be here?
"Rin? Why are you here?" The Dragon Slayer asked.
"You should be focusing on yourself," she answered, "How are your injuries?"
"I'm feeling a lot better."
"That's good to hear."
Soon though, Natsu remembered that he was late. He scrambled to get out of bed, even with his injuries, before he was promptly stopped by the Tohsaka mage's voice.
"You're not going to school."
"Why not?" Natsu questioned, "I told you, Ms. Fujimura would kill me!"
"Look at your injuries. You'd be questioned a lot with how visible they are."
She did have a point. With how beat-up Natsu was, it would at least raise a few eyebrows. Plus, he could spend some time recovering, though he was already mostly healed and ready to jump back into action. It wasn't like he was complaining, though.
"Finally, I don't have to go!"
"You should be going again by tomorrow," Rin then said, shutting down Natsu's hopes, "Don't get your hopes up too much."
"Aww..."
With his hopes for multiple days off crushed, Natsu sulked. This didn't last long, though, and he was soon back to his regular self. Although, there was a lingering thought on the Dragon Slayer's mind.
"How's Ayako?" He asked.
"Ayako?" Rin repeated in confusion, almost forgetting how Natsu referred to people by their first names before catching herself, "Oh, you mean Mitsuzuri. She'll be fine with some rest, so she was also told to stay home today."
The two remained silent for some time before Rin broke the silence. Their pact needed to be discussed, especially the matter on what their first move would be.
