I told you guys I'd be more consistent. Let's hope that keeps up for more than just this chapter. Also, it's pretty obvious what this chapter's about based on the title. Like, come on now. Anyways, not much else to say here, so here's chapter 15 of Fate/Burning Will.
--------------------------------------
The day of respite had come to an end, and all four of Natsu, Saber, Rin, and Sakura were now asleep. For once, everyone felt content going into the end of the day, now that the latter two had made up and Sakura had begun to open up more. As expected, the Emiya household was rather quiet. Only a few outside noises, mainly from a few animals, kept the area from total silence.
And yet, it seemed the opposite of quiet for the Fire Dragon Slayer and his Servant.
Dreams ran rampant within their individual mindscapes. Natsu, once more, saw a blonde-haired girl about to pull a sword out of a stone. He had seen this before, down to the expression she had when she walked forward to pull out the blade. However, this time, there was more. The next thing he witnessed... was blood.
Blood was spilled as that same young woman cut down foe after foe. Each time she cut someone down, the setting changed. That is, until it shifted to a blood-filled hill. Corpses surrounded the hill, as she knelt atop it and clutched her blade.
Then came a lethal slash that seemed to end her life.
This was Saber's past.
He'd witnessed her pulling a blade out of a stone, as if it were a life-changing decision, and he'd witnessed her fighting battle after battle before dying atop a bloody hill.
Natsu woke with a start.
Saber, meanwhile, dreamed a radically different dream. She saw a young boy with salmon-colored hair... slain. A dragon attack took his life and destroyed his hometown. Yet, he was not gone for good. Next, she saw his resurrection. He'd been reborn as the greatest demon of all. Then, she saw him being raised by a dragon. This string of events was bizarre, to say the least.
Suddenly, events flashed rapidly before her eyes. She saw him with his friends in the guild he held dear, she saw him fight battle after battle, but they were mostly blurs. Two events, though, were not: the death of the dragon that raised him, and his victory over one of his final opponents - Zeref.
This was Natsu's past.
She'd witnessed his death and revival as E.N.D at Zeref's hands, his being raised by Igneel, his time spent with his friends, and the battles he faced; and it all culminated in the death of Igneel and the defeat of Zeref.
Saber woke with a start.
A Servant could occasionally have dreams of their Master's past and vice versa, Saber knew that much, but witnessing everything Natsu had been through - in particular - was nothing short of astounding. Of course, the same could be said for Natsu himself. He knew now why that girl in his dream was familiar to him.
That girl was Saber.
Similarly, he was stunned by what he'd witnessed. However, he didn't know what Saber knew about Masters having dreams about their Servants' pasts. In short, Saber knew that she'd seen Natsu's past, but Natsu didn't know that he'd just witnessed Saber's.
