AND I'M BACK Y'ALL! I'm doing my best to make sure I don't fall behind and then end up leaving you guys hanging for a few months or so. Not much else to say here, so enjoy chapter 16 of Fate/Burning Will.

Side Note: If you saw a previous version of this and are wondering where it went, I took it down. I missed something REALLY important, so I took down the chapter and added it in.

--------------------------------------

The fight against Berserker had begun at a fever pitch, but the first clash between Natsu and the wild Servant had not worked out as favorably as the Dragon Slayer and his allies had expected. Berserker was completely unaffected by both Archer's arrows and Natsu's fire, leaving the group of four in a precarious spot.

"Why isn't my fire working?!" Natsu questioned.

"Oh Big Brother, I'm sorry. I didn't tell you before, did I? Every time Berserker is harmed by an attack, regardless of if it leads to death or not, he will gain a resistance to it after he heals," Illya explained, "No matter the power of the attack used to kill him, it will be nullified if Berserker has already been killed by it. You can't kill Berserker the same way twice. You've already killed my Berserker with your Fire Magic, meaning it no longer has any effect on him."

"No way..."

"All this fire you're spewing is like a warm breeze to my Berserker."

Berserker roared once more, jumping up high before swinging his sword down at Natsu as he was about to land.

"Natsu, look out!"

Saber rushed into the battle after calling out to her Master, much to the surprise of both Natsu and Rin. Attacking with a sword slash, she clashed with Berserker, doing so a few more times before breaking from the collision.

"Saber, you're supposed to be-!" Natsu was about to say.

"If your magic is ineffective against him, then I must fight him right now!"

"But-"

"Natsu, it's fine," Rin interjected before pulling out a few jewels, "Let's go!"

Natsu nodded, firing off a Fire Dragon's Roar past Saber and Rin and nailing Berserker with it. It created an explosion, but as before, it didn't do any damage.

"No matter how much you attack Berserker, it's useless, Big Brother," Illya commented.

However, Natsu just grinned. That explosion created the perfect smokescreen for Saber to start attacking Berserker with sword slash after sword slash. Each one was powerful, drawing blood from the scabs that were created. The repeated movements blew away the smokescreen, but Saber already appeared to have the advantage.

That is, until Berserker showed just how tolerant he was of pain and struck back with his massive blade. Saber managed to block it with her own, but the force was enough to launch her meters away.

Meanwhile, Rin shot dark red blasts out of her palms via Magecraft, trying to get Berserker's attention. Though she was successful, Berserker's speed was greater than she'd expected. In fact, it was greater than their initial fight with him. It was only thanks to a flaming kick from Natsu that Berserker's blade was stopped. Once the two broke from their clash, though, Berserker swung his blade at the Dragon Slayer faster than he could evade. As such, he could only block. Even then, Berserker was able to lift Natsu up with his sword and then slam him into the floor.

"That hurt..." Natsu groaned as he slowly rose from the crater Berserker had created from that attack, "How's he both faster and stronger than last time?"
