Keep Your Secrets Backstage

~{No One's POV}~

   A group of animals were looking up at a row of posters for the new Cherryton drama club play, Adler. "Hmph. I guess their star actor is a really big deal, huh?" A Caracal said.

   Behind the caracal was a gazelle, a cougar, and a fox, as well as a badger.

   "We carnivores will have to watch our step with celebrites like him. Especially an herbivore. He's attracting so much attention to our school." The cougar said, as the gazelle looked at him with a 'Really?' expression.

   The fox beside the cougar spoke. "He's something all right. Both carnivores and herbivores are going to flock to the auditorium to watch Louis perform."

   "Drama club members, please enter the auditorium!" Gon, principal of Cherryton announced from up on the stage. The doors to the auditorium flew open majestically. In stepped the drama club, with Louis in the lead.

"Having successfully overcome species barriers and having performed admirably in many competitions, you have greatly contributed to the success of Cherryton Academy!" Principal Gon continued, while the members and Louis made their way up to the stage.

   "Therefore, we present the Cherryton Academy Honour Award to our Drama Club!"

   Everyone in the audience clapped. Louis bowed as he accepted the award given to him and his club by Headmaster Gon. "We're looking forward to this year's performances." he said. "We won't let you down." Louis promised. Gon then gave Louis the microphone, to which Louis took with gratitude. He began a speech.

"Coexistence and coprosperity is of the utmost importance. That's what we will continue to represent to you on the stage. The first performance of our play to welcome new students will be the day after tomorrow. I hope you all can make it." After that speech, Louis bowed. He had a small, but noticeable smile on his face as he listened to the roaring thunder of applause.

Wow... the applause was thunderous. Pondered Leon and Legoshi. They were broken out of their trance by a ranting Kai. "*scoff* Coexistence and prosperity my ass!" The three of them were on the balcony, operating the lights. "Hey, keep your voice down!" Leon and Legoshi scolded in unison. "Whatever! I don't care who hears! Louis kicked me off the actors team for no reason other than a few blunders! That's just petty." Kai spouted. "Well... I'm kinda over it now. I can handle being a stagehand." Legoshi and Leon sighed. "I'm glad to hear that."

"The show opens the day after tomorrow. Everyone's psyched." he said. "Hey Legoshi." said Kai. "Hm?" hummed Legoshi. "You keep spacing out, but show up everyday. What's up with that?" asked Kai. "Well, it's my duty as a drama club member." Legoshi answered as he adjusted the lights. "Huh? Haven't you ever wanted to be an actor?" Kai and Leon asked.

"No. Never." 

Kai stared at him. "But you've got the looks for it! You know what? I think you'd be great actor. Didn't you wonder why our adviser scouted you?" asked Kai.

The club adviser chooses every member of the Drama Club. The way this club picks its members is...unusual to say the least. The club currently has 33 members. The adviser scouts anywhere from 10 to 20 first-year junior high students every year. The leaders are selected from this pool. Only members who can handle the intense rehearsals and strict hierarchical relationships between junior and senior members survive. 

"So, you're saying that every single one of us was scouted?" Legoshi recounted. "Yep." said Kai. "So what do they judge you on?" "Oh come on, you can't be telling me you don't know! Hm... let's start with...Sheila! That cheetah was originally a destitute 14 year old dominatrix. Moro the rhino thinks that his horn is actually his guardian angel. The giraffe Mina has trypophobia and unfortunately can't look at her own body without screaming. And I was abandoned by my biological parents and was adopted into a family of hyenas. That leaves you two. Leon and Legoshi, what are your secrets?" 

"What's my secret?" pondered Legoshi aloud. He then got very close to Kai. "Why don't you guess?" he asked. Kai screamed, catching the attention of others. "Hey, quit teasing me!" "Sorry." "And stop smirking!" The two then noticed Leon. He seemed to be daydreaming. "Whatcha doin Leon?" Kai asked. Leon ignored him. He seemed to be gazing at Sheila with a glazed expression. Legoshi and Kai followed his gaze. They exchanged glances and smirked. "Ah, I see. You have a crush on Sheila don't you?"

Leon gasped. "W-What?! N-No I don't!" "Oh sureeeeeeeeeeeeee." Legoshi doubted. "Come on guys! Quit it!" said Leon. "Nope!" said Kai. "Ughhhh.... fine. I do think that she's pretty hot...." admitted Leon in defeat. "Yesss! Knew it!" Kai boomed. "Shut up Kai." "Heh."

Legoshi smirked. Something else, however, was on his mind. So... everybody has a secret. Even Louis. What kind of secret would he hide, especially with a spotless reputation?
