ugh, this is going to sound super basic, but does anyone else feel like they can never write exactly what they want to? mostly for action? like i listen to music in the car and imagine extremely vivid scenes of my fics playing out motion for motion to the beat (my neurodivergent ass doesn't know how to occupy time any other way), and it's always so dynamic and intense and perfect. and then when i finally get to putting it down on the page, usually a scene i'm really excited for, it's just... not that.
i know that obviously i'm never going to be able to capture those visions because i'm imagining them as animated / live scenes, and writing just doesn't work like that. i can't match stuff to a beat, and i can't portray every detail of how tsubame flips around without lengthily describing each one and the scene therefore slowing down. and i know i'm doing the best i can! but it's still always just a little disappointing.
i just hope you guys enjoy reading my action scenes! the USJ attack is one that i've been imagining right from the start and even though i'll never be able to capture it the exact way i picture it in my head, i really did try my best. i hope people like it!
idk if this interests anyone, but i've always imagined the part where she's fighting all the villains in chapter 12 to be set to "ready to" by sumire morohoshi (from the 'brand new animal' anime soundtrack). all the flipping, landing, cracking skulls and punches go really well on the beat in my mind. obviously it can't be read that way because pacing and shit but ugh if you want to imagine tsubame being a badass animal-girl pouncing around and kicking ass then!!
the nomu fight in chapter 13 was always set to a mixture of "megitsune", "PA PA YA!!", and "BxMxC" by BABYMETAL. more intense, metal, the stakes raised. it would have been badass if tsubame and the nomu were ACTUALLY able to brawl but like obvs that would never be able to happen bc the USJ nomu was just way, way too OP,, but again ugh i wish i could animate bc i would create some kickass AMVs to these.
anyway, i hope you enjoyed the chapter! maybe one day i'll be able to animate and live up to my wishes. i pulled an all-nighter and have not slept in a good 31 hours YEET
