Parkers POV:

I woke up on Monday morning to my father shaking me awake.

"You slept through your alarm, and I didn't want you to be late for school." I smiled at him as I flipped to face him. I apparently fell asleep after I went to my room on Saturday, so my dad made dinner until my mother woke me up to eat. I fell asleep again until I woke up at 10:00 on Sunday. My dad had explained what happened Friday and Saturday, but didn't out either one of us. We spent Sunday inside as it was raining.

"Thank you." I turned off my ringing alarm as my dad walked out of my room. Today was going to be the first day in years that I would be going to school without Hunter. Even when one of us was sick, our parents let us stay home together. Sometimes we would have the non-sick one of us pretend to be sick so we wouldn't be separated. Although, looking back on it, our parents probably knew what we were doing. I was honestly scared of going to school without Hunter at my side. I wasn't even going to get to talk to him after school, because he still hadn't woken up.

I stood up and made my bed, before heading downstairs to get some breakfast. My mother was busy cutting strawberries while my dad was sitting at the bar talking to her. She looked up when I walked in, quickly wiping her hands on a towel before giving me a hug.

"Your father told me about Hunter. I'm so sorry I wasn't here to  talk to you and make you feel better. How are you, sweetie?" I shrugged, pulling away from my mom. I grabbed the plate of strawberries and sat on the floor of the kitchen, leaning against the cabinets.

"When you're done eating the berries, get a bowl of cereal before getting dressed." I nodded to my mother while eating more fruit. Once I'd had a sufficient amount of berries, I grabbed a bowl, spoon, the cheerios, and milk. I cleaned up my cereal mess before giving my mom another hug.

"I'm going to go get dressed. See you guys in a bit." I went back up to my room, stopping in front of my dresser. I grabbed a pair of dark blue jeans, a white and blue shirt, and a green flannel. After I got dressed, brushed my teeth and combed through my hair with my fingers. I couldn't stop thinking about going to school without Hunter. Now I had no excuse to ride the bus, or avoid my house. Grabbing my backpack and checking that my work was in it, I headed back downstairs. My dad looked up from his phone, glancing towards me.

"You ready to head out? You look very nice." He stood up and grabbed his keys.

I nodded slightly. "Yeah, thanks." We walked out to his car, where he would be dropping me off before heading to work. As we neared the school he began chatting with me as I hung my head down to my chest, slumped in the passenger's seat.

"So, I did call Henry last night." I perked up slightly at that, looking over to my dad for a continuation of the story. He glanced at me before nodding his head to himself. "Yeah, called him and told him what we talked about. Me, not you, don't worry. And apparently he though I was bisexual and just never mentioned it. He told me that Patrick thought we were dating in college, and he was jealous of us the first two years. Can you believe it?" I almost chuckled at that before I looked out of my windows.

"Yeah, the world's a funny place, isn't it? It gives, it takes. Life too, I guess." My voice became a whisper as a lump formed in my throat. I felt my dad reach over and give my arm a gentle squeeze before pulling into the highschool parking lot.
