ch. 11 | rock, paper, scissors..shoot!

midoriya is walking to the podium, he lets out a shaky breath. 'why am i so nervous..? i havent been like this since middle school..its fine izuku! you can beat that tape dispenser. its..not that hard, scissors always beats paper..always.' izuku tried to fight with himself.

hearing present mic's faint voice he mentally prepares himself.

"we have, sero hanta from the hero course! his quirk? tape! he can shoot tape from his elbows, but i think they paid the price, so they look creepy!" present mic introduced hanta. "and from the support and general course! midoriya izuku!" 

yamada's voice fades out from the two voices and hanta speaks to himself. "well..this should be pretty easy, your quirkless anyway.. and it doesnt look like you brought any of those special gadgets with you.." hanta observed.

"GO!"

sero quickly shot two tape lines at midoriya as to where, with no tricks, midoriya bent backwards, doing a flip and landing on his feet, sero clenched his teeth.

'he dodged?!'

"sorry. guess you thought low of me" midoriya shrugged, faking his cockiness, he could tell sero was getting annoyed.

sero quickly shot more tape but this time midoriya used his hard scissors and quickly cut them up. sero continued to shoot more and more rolls of tape, sweating a bit since he tried to be precise. 

"what? tired already? ok.." deku smiled to himself, running towards sero, dodging all the attacks and tape thrown at him.

midoriya gets to sero's side, wrapping the tape which was once shot at him to pull sero out of bounds. quickly sero tried to stop deku but failed ultimately as he couldnt do much in this situation.

sero tried to restrain but deku's grip was firm, he threw the raven haired boy out of the podium then the match ended.

"SERO IS OUT OF BOUNDS! MIDORIYA WILL ADVANCE!" midnight yells to the crowd, a creep of silence and whispers about the quirkless kid 'till they start to cheer. midoriya sighs to himself, he looks down on sero who was laying on the floor after being roughly shoved.

"y'know, just because im quirkless doesnt mean im an easy target. never under-estimate your opponents, hanta sero." and with that, the greenette walked off the podium, sero still being phased and a little sad walked off.

midoriya walked up to the seat and saw hatsume and shinso, waving he said "hito-kun! mei-chan!". mei sat frozen in her seat, "-chan?" shinso questioned, midoriya realized what he said and went pale.

"uwah!! im sorry! it just came out like that- if your not comfortable mei i wont use it im-"

"ha-HAHAH-" mei laughs, holding her stomach. "its okay zuzu, you can use chan, i dont care-" she cuts herself off, walking towards izuku, hitting him straight at the head. "BUT YOU BROKE BABY NUMBER 65 SO DONT THINK ILL FORGIVE YOU! my poor, poor baby.." mei fake cries.

shinso shrugs and goes along with it. "yeah izuku, why'd you do that?" nudging his shoulder a bit.

"oi- dont gang up on meee!!" deku whines, the trio laughs.

sero sighs, walking back to class 1-A, "hey! dont beat yourself up about it. you had a good try!" 

sero didnt reply and walked over to his seat, slumping down.
