"You shouldn't have done it," Hermione said.
"Done what?" Harry asked.
"Felix Felicis, Harry. Professor Slughorn told you that you could only use it on an ordinary day! Not to win a game or something!"
Harry pulled out Felix Felicis from his pocket. It's lid was not opened.
"I didn't put it in."
"What?" Hermione reacted. "But-"
"I didn't put it in." Harry repeated.
"So... Ron only thought you did?"
"Yes," Harry answered.
"Look, I can do things by myself, too Hermione! I guess you couldn't believe that I was capable of such a thing, could you?" snapped Ron.
"No, I didn't mean-"
But Ron was already away. Harry saw Lavender running towards him and locking her lips onto his mouth. He grinned. It was Ron's first kiss. He felt the air near him being swept by someone suddenly running away. When he turned around, he saw Hermione was gone. He followed the corridor. He could hear birds chirping coming from a long distance. He followed the sounds to see where it was coming from.
After a long walk, Harry saw Hermione sitting down on the empty stairs. It was an isolated place. No one except Hermione was there. He could hear her sobbing.
"Hey," Harry said. Birds were circling around her head. A harp was playing by itself near her. He could not help but admire her broad knowledge of spells even in such a vulnerable situation.
"Oh, hi," she answered. "I was just practising."
"Well, they are really good," Harry said, sitting next to her. There was a moment of silence.
"The day in our first potions class with Professor Slughorn," said Hermione, breaking the silence. "I smelled his scent, Harry. That's why I was so embarrassed."
"Well, I kind of sensed it," Harry replied.
"I didn't know about what Professor Slughorn added to my explanation," Hermione continued. "I mean, I thought the smell gave the scent of true love. I guess it only shows who you can be attracted to."
"Attraction isn't enough sometimes, huh?" Harry asked.
"I don't know," Hermione said. He thought about the flowery scent and Ginny. He hadn't realized where his jealousy towards Ginny and Dean was coming from until that moment.
"He also said that the smell creates an obsession, didn't he?" Harry added.
Hermione paused for a moment.
"Yes, he did. Why do you ask?"
"No reason," Harry lied. He didn't want to tell her about Ginny and her scent at all at that moment.
