"We even went to the zoo, and we loved every second of it, except Sam, the pigeons kept trying to land on him," Steve laughed, telling Wanda all about what he and the others did the day prior through the phone.

Wanda smiled, "That sounds wonderful, Steve, Sorry I couldn't go, the- fever was really bad," Wanda says, faltering a bit on the last words.

On Saturday, Bruce, or- the Hulk, are they even the same person?- had reached out to Wanda asking her if she wanted to attend an adventure around the city. Wanda denied, making up the scenario that she had a fever. It wasn't that she didn't want to go, it was one of those days where she felt like bursting into tears for the smallest inconvenience.

She knew that if she went, she'd end up crying randomly, and then the conversation after wouldn't do Wanda's nerves any good.

"Yeah, it's great you're feeling better now, and speaking of, have you been writing down anything lately?" Steve brought up.

Wanda was silent for a few seconds, debating quickly to herself if she should muster up a smile and lie, or let herself break down and admit.

"Yeah, I have," Wanda says, "Written at least, 3 pages a day!" She exclaimed.

"That's wonderful Wanda," Steve admired, "I'm proud of you, really. People who feel the way you do are hesitant about this sort of thing, good job," He complimented, it was evident in his voice that he was smiling.

Wanda felt a pang in her heart, knowing she didn't deserve the praise. She wasn't even trying to get better, and her eye muscles convulsed as she felt her vision get blurry-

"Bucky! Wait- that's not the oven that's the dishwasher- Ugh!" Steve yelled.

"Uh, Wanda- I'm gonna call you later bye!" He hung up the phone, leaving Wanda amused.

She wiped the semi- tears that were threatening to leave her eyes, and put the house phone back.

Around this time, she'd usually replace the tank-top and shorts with her sweatpants and sweatshirt to go outside for a little walk. Today, she didn't have the energy to even walk.

Instead, she decided it was a good opportunity to go to bed.

Wanda had always had difficulty falling asleep, to help, she bought herself melatonin gummies from the pharmacy across the street.

She pulled open the cabinet full of fever, cold, and sleep medicines. She pulled out the gummies, screwed open the purple cap and popped 1 red gummy in her mouth.

She looked back into the small jar and realized all the gummies were purple and blue. She sucked her teeth in irritation. The red ones were her favorites.
