[a/n: I'm.. Not quite going to make this story a slow-burn,, if that's the right word. Since I feel as tough, the relationship is really only presented towards the end and everything else is just leading up to it. And when the actual relationship is given to the readers at the very end with only three chapters? I feel guilty, because that's not much payoff after the plenty of chapters the reader has gone through just to lead up to that point. So, expect them to get in a relationship in the next few chapters for this book.]
Hajime's P.O.V
It's simply been only a day of the week I'd be spending with Nagito. And I was already considering instead, doing the irregular and coming to school on Friday. Though conversing with Komaeda was different and somewhat difficult, I still really liked having chats with them. Hearing about his life was something I had to say was interesting, I really liked learning about how his life worked. He apparently lived at a hospital like the two other boys who had walked into the classroom with him, as he did not have any family members to care for him. And the cloudette also mentioned that he quite liked writing. He refused to go into detail about what exactly he wrote, but he at least shared a hobby with me. That was probably the hobby he *had* to form, considering how he had to grow up and such. Even though I had not read any of his writing, apart from his text method, I could already guess that he had a talent at it.
I've also learned that he is the Ultimate Lucky Student; there were multiple students at Hope's Peak with that title, since that was thanks to a yearly draw, and once it was done one normal person would be able to attend Hope's Peak. Since them being the chosen student was quite the lucky occurrence, of course they were to receive the title. And that was exactly what happened to Komaeda. Though, he actually feels as though he doesn't deserve it. But there was no changing the fact that he was a student for this school, and he simply had to embrace that.
But, if he weren't the Ultimate Lucky Student? I would guess he would be some sort of an Ultimate Writer; from how much he likes talking about writing. Well, of course there are other things he likes talking about, and other hobbies he takes up on, but writing is the most notable one. Perhaps one day he'll become confident enough to actually share his content with me; and I'll be patient for that. I don't know why I was so intrigued on the subject, though. I suppose I just was. I could probably say the same thing for his entire character. Komaeda intrigued me. There was something mysterious about him that was pulling me in like a magnet. And what that was? Oh, damn if I could ever even have a clue as to why. If I were to state my guesses they would sound ridiculous.
Well, I guess there would be no harm in stating them mentally. So, the main possibility that could be drawing in the connection I have with Nagito is that butterfly, and the arctic blue one that flew with it. I know that may sound bonkers, but hear me out. I'd only been encountering the butterfly since last Thursday; and during Friday and the weekend, it has encountered my window sill on its own. And, since yesterday, whenever I am around Nagito and look out the nearest window, I have a high chance in seeing that butterfly fly past it and/or take a rest on the sill. Though, when I am with the cloudette, it always has the blue one with it. I know my guesses are a large stretch here but, what if that blue one visited Komaeda each day? What if he had occurrences like my own? I have yet to ask him about the subject.
But even so, I don't think I would be able to ask him. I mean, in what kind of situation could I bring up such a bizarre topic as a daily butterfly visitor? He'd just view me as some kind of deranged weirdo if I were to bring it up randomly as well.
But, anyways, that basically concludes my largest theory. I think it may have something to do with the butterflies, that gave me a natural strong connection and bond to Komaeda. Something that made me long to speak with him for hours upon hours on end. Or maybe it was simply just, nothing. That was a possibility as well. Maybe it was just a natural kind of connection, one that needed no explanation nor thought.
