Lies

Third Person P.O.V

Rantaro had been brought down to the hospital in a decently rapid fashion, instantly brought to proper care. Ouma would refuse continuously to leave the greenette's side, almost as if, if he were to leave the world would explode. His attachment could hardly give in to any sort of bounds. As for the others, Kaede was mainly trying to give support to the purple headed male and look after him, making sure he didn't do anything rash or take his attachment too far. Then there was Komaeda and Hinata; well, they didn't exactly know what to do. They of course were worried for the both of them, but their checking up on the nearly departed couple weren't all too usual. Nagito had also informed Togami on the green headed male's unfortunate incident, to which he seemed more worried and concerned than usual, putting down his entire rude persona for once. The insight of true colors was truly something to see, but in this context? It was also a bit depressing as well. Byakuya took his visits to the dying Amami more usually than Hinata and Komaeda, which was once again, truly something considering his character.

As of today, Kokichi had been forced to take the day away from Amami. He instead had to spend his time with Hinata and Komaeda; which he didn't quite like, since seeing them being close and happy with one another over and over again was constant in making him jealous and longing. With each time he witnessed it and got fed up, he'd yell at either of them with a statement along the lines of, "At least you have a fucking boyfriend". And after a few hours, he began his rapid lying. Sometimes, he would lie to simply try and make the situation better and more bearable, as if it were ever to actually work. It was some sort of odd coping mechanism, and not a very good one at that. Especially now, as the lies he would tell were the ones that were obvious lies; nothing tricky or sly. His lies contained the likes of, "I've always hated Rantaro", "I'm happy he's dying already", and "Finally, I can be away from an idiot". His tones were never convincing either, with nearly each of them that he put on, there was some kind of hint of sadness strung within it, giving off that it wasn't true in any way. And that was what had greatly shown off how strongly he had been affected by the falling of his lover. This simple fact was enough to make Komaeda guilty. Incredibly guilty.

Why was he so damned guilty about this? He didn't have to be, or at least not as much as he was. He had the chance to tell Ouma about the greenette's condition multiple times, or he could have told anyone in general. The only thing that had kept him back from telling anyone was the fact that Rantaro had a huge grudge against him doing it, for whatever reason; and even was so serious about it that he had given an unclear and vague threat. But now that the cloudette had thought about it, he still could have told somebody. What would have the green haired male been able to do if he had? Likely, nothing. The worse that could have been done from such a calm and kind individual was him wanting to no longer be friend with Komaeda after that. And while that would hurt the albino's feelings, it wouldn't exactly be that bad. Therefore, he had to come to the acceptance that in a few ways, it was Nagito's fault that nobody was told, though the blame had to mostly be put on Rantaro.

But who even cared about the blame anyways? That was one of the least of their problems; in the end, blame got no one anywhere and was downright pointless. But Komaeda could not prevent the guilt that stung his heart each time he noticed just how hurt Ouma was after all this, and how hurt he would continue to be. And he had began to ponder, should he admit to that? It was a torn decision, really. On one hand, he would be able to prove that Amami was a jerk about his sickness, though on the other there was a large chance of the purplette being frustrated with the cloudette instead; the latter was especially a larger chance considering his bias towards the green haired one. Therefore he didn't have a clue, and ended up wanting advice about it. However, if he wanted advice he would have to ask someone he trusted enough with the information he had; and as much as he cared for Byakuya, he was out of the question, as he wasn't likely to help very much. So of course, it all came down to Hajime. Why wouldn't it? He was surely trust-able with the information... At least Komaeda hoped as much.
