THE PAST WEEK had been weird to say the least. Judd and Dana were still together and their relationship was fine, the issue was with Dana's friends.
Dana had returned to school after her and Judd's little performance in his room and the days went on as usual; Dana and Judd's small encounters at night and completely ignoring each other's existence by day.
Until Dana and Leah met for their weekend-ly brunch and Leah wasn't there.
Dana sat at their designated seat, the booth they'd been sitting at together since they were 14 and waited for her friend but to no avail.
Five minutes into waiting, Dana called Leah, the phone going straight to voicemail.
To avoid further embarrassment of being alone in a two seater booth at a diner common between Bridgeton students, Dana left the diner and slid back into her raggedy car, heading for Leah's house.
Urban life blurred into blobs of colours as Dana drove to Leah's suburban family home, mind plagued with questions as to why Leah would miss their brunch, something neither of them had ever missed in their 5 years of being friends.
The strawberry blond haphazardly Parker her car as she ascended upon the patio to the front door, ringing the doorbell and walking back out to see if she could catch a peek into Leah's bedroom window.
The door opened and Dana hasted back to it to be met with Nick.
"Leah's not home." He said, his voice adjusting the the changes his body were going through.
"Yes she is. I can hear music coming from her window, Nick, I'm not stupid." She deadpanned to the younger boy.
Nick shrugged, the drama between his sister and her hot friend not satisfying enough for him.
"What about Judd?"
"I don't know. Bye Dana." Nick had gotten a gist of what had happened between the two and sided with his sister, for obvious reasons even if those reasons were completely unclear to the other party of the argument.
Dana walked back to her car, glancing at Leah's bedroom window.
What the hell had gone on?
