chapter 8: u

oh my gosh 300 reads?  still not a lot but 100 between chapters is kinda crazy to me! so thank you!!  i think i'll do what i originally planned to do, which was 14 chapters, so that means the book's already half way over! so weird that i started writing this 8 weeks ago.  please vote and comment <333

GENERAL POV:

she smiled when she felt emily reciprocate the action and layed her head back down falling asleep.  

emily fell asleep shortly after.

a little while later jj woke up, still leaning her head on emily's lap.  she was sleeping peacefully until she felt emily moving around under her head.  jj thought nothing of it until she heard emily's breathing start to speed up.  jj sat up to see what was wrong, noticing that emily was still sleeping.  emily was trembling when jj reached to touch her.

emily was mumbling, "no, stop no!" 

"hey em, it's me you're okay"

emily let out a blood curdling scream.  jj stroked the side of emily's face to try to console emily.  in her sleeping attempt to get jj off of her, emily slapped jj across the face.  jj yelped and pulled back, causing emily to wake up; panting. jj's hand flew to her face to put pressure on her now stinging skin.  

"emily, you're okay.  it's jj i'm right here"

"jj?"

"em, it's okay. you were just having a nightmare."

"why are you holding your face?" 

"it's nothing, really"

emily reached out to move jj's hand from her cheek, but jj flinched.  emily knew she must've done something.  

"jayje, move your hand."

jj hesitated at first, but slowly moved her hand to show emily her bright red cheek.  

"did.. did i do that?"  emily gasped.

jj didn't speak.  she just nodded her head in response to emily's question.  

"jj.  i am so sorry i-", emily never finished her sentence.  

she stood there stunned looking at jj.  before jj could talk again emily ran to the bathroom; locking the door behind her.  the blonde woman followed quickly.  jj reached for the doorknob just to discover it was still locked.  

"em, open the door."

"no.  i can't"

"you need to open the door em."

"jj go away."

"emily prentiss.  i'm gonna pick the lock if you don't let me in.  i know you didn't mean to hurt me, i promise.  it's okay you didn't mean it."

"jayje, i am so sorry."

jj heard the door unlock, so she slowly opened it.  

"em, what happened"

"i had a nightmare.  jj i'm so-"

"em stop apologizing.  you were asleep."

"i know i was asleep, but i hit you.  and now you probably hate me"

" i don't hate you emily.  why would you think that?"

"i just figured, because ya know.. your history with will."
