Chapter 19 - Discharge

"Mr. Kikuoka, we're missing some of the parts to build the vessels for the Underworld fluctlights."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what I have said, sir. We are missing parts."

"Did you misplace them?"

"No sir. They have only been used to build the bodies, nothing else."

"Hm... Order more. Keep an eye on them this time. The parts are very expensive."

"Roger that, sir."

~ Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026

"One more hit, Yuuki!" Liz shouts. "Take that thing down!" Yuuki swooped in from behind the rest of the group and made one final slash on the boss's chest, making it burst into a could of glass-like pixels. A white 'Congratulations!' message appeared in front of you. The group started celebrating. 

"Nice job!" You praise Yuuki. "That was great!"

"You're being too kind, y'know. I didn't do everything." A small bit of red spread onto her cheeks. 

"U/N's right Yuuki." Sinon agrees. "It makes sense that you're the only one who managed to beat the Black Swordsman."

"Aw, guys..!" She wraps both you and Sinon into a tight embrace. "You're all so kind! I'm so glad I got to meet you!" She lets go of the both of you, her bright smile remained. "Actually... can you guys do me a favor?"

~ A few hours later.

You were at Shino's house waiting for the taxi to arrive. 

"What do you think Yuuki wants?" You ask her.

"I don't know. It's got to be serious, though. She never usually tells us to visit her in the real world." Shino ponders.

"I guess we can only wonder until we get there."

You both hop on the taxi that had arrived not long ago and make your way to Yokohama Kōhoku General Hospital. 

You arrive and make your way to the receptionist that you had seen once or twice before when you had visited Yuuki in the past.

"Welcome, you two! I take it you are here to see Ms. Konno?"

"Yes, we are." 

"Well, you know where to go. Better be fast, though. Visiting hours will be over soon."

"We'll keep that in mind. Thank you!" You both make your way through the hospital and find Yuuki's room. You take a deep breath before knocking on the door.

"Hello?" Doctor Kurahashi, whom you had met before, had greeted you both. "Ah, there you two are! I was wondering what took you both so long. Please follow me!" The doctor exited the room and began walking down the hall. Confused, you both follow him.

"Here we are!" Doctor Kurahashi stands in front of a white door.

"Um, Doctor... what exactly are we doing here?" Shino asked.

"Heh," He doesn't answer. Instead, he knocks on the door. After a few moments, it slowly begins to open. A small girl with black-brown hair greeted you with a smile.

"Oh my god!" You both shout in delight. Both you and Shino brush past the doctor and tightly embrace the now walking Yuuki Konno.

"Yuuki!" You shout. "You... You're walking!"

"You're walking!" Shino repeats, tears falling down her cheeks. The same thing started happening to you. Soon enough, Yuuki's hospital gown began to be soaked in tears.
